Hi Linkedin Friends. Quick story for any of you who have struggled to buy gift cards in large numbers for employee or customer gifts around the holidays. In years past, we’d take turns going to Wal-Mart to buy a handful of cards and often get treated like drug dealers trying to launder money when we were just trying to brighten the holidays for our employees. We tried to buy Visa gift cards one year to cut down on the endless trips to Wal-Mart and there were a bunch of fees and, worse, half of them didn’t arrive on time. This year, we bought cards from BizGift™ and it was awesome because: * We got to customize our message and weren’t limited to a cartoon version of a turkey from Bentonville. * Our employees get to choose from over 300 retailers including Starbucks, Dunkin, and Wal-Mart. * Our business only gets charged if and when the recipient activates the card. In years past, we had to pay up front and if our employees didn’t use the cards, the retailer benefited. Now, we don’t get charged for it. * It was super easy. We made 0 trips to Wal Mart this year. We ordered the cards online at Bizgift.com and they were here in plenty of time. I talked to the folks at BizGift today. They said they’ll be able to get cards ordered in the next three days turned in time to be handed out the Friday before Christmas. If you’re interested, visit www.bizgift.com or contact Holly at [email protected] or Tim at [email protected]. Happy Holidays! P.S. In full disclosure… BizGift is a startup funded by a company our firm invested in, but our experience with the company was awesome. #holidaygiving #BizGift™ #Card Market #employeegifting #Timothy W. Transforming Numbers Into Effective Strategic Decisions
10moThanks for advice G.R. Kearney , especially when I just heard story about gift card fraud where people take down all the gift card info and then return them to shelves. So, when someone buys a gift card, it is inmediately spent by the criminals who are alerted it has money on it.
