This 10-month fellowship will equip 20 residents with the tools and knowledge to drive climate action in their communities. Suisun City and Fairfield face unique climate challenges, from sea level rise to wildfires. By nurturing local expertise, we're building a network of advocates ready to tackle these issues head-on. We're proud to congratulate Laurel Prevetti, Chair of Greenbelt Alliance's Board of Directors, on her retirement after an exemplary 38-year career in public service! Laurel is concluding her tenure as Los Gatos City Manager after 10 years, building upon her previous 28 years of service in the San Jose Planning Department. Throughout her career, Laurel has been a champion for sustainable urban planning, environmental protection, economic vitality, innovative public engagement, and government transparency. In Laurel’s words, “Our local advocates, community leaders, partners, and residents are instrumental to our driving the change we need in the Bay Area." At Greenbelt Alliance, we've been fortunate to benefit from Laurel's leadership and deep commitment to our mission. Her contributions to our organization and the broader field of urban planning are truly invaluable. As Laurel embarks on this new chapter, we celebrate her remarkable career and the lasting positive impact she's made on our communities. Whether you're zooming in from your home office (with Mochi and Salem stealing the show 😺), making that epic three-block commute to the office, or surprising us with an exotic background from your travels, your energy and dedication never waver.
