In light of this most recent development, I'm wondering if universities will extend the usual May 1, commitment/deposit deadline, to give students sufficient time to receive and evaluate their financial aid packages. None of what has happened is the fault of students. They shouldn't be penalized for it. #collegeadmissions #universityadmissions

Awful setback for families who need this financial aid information to make their college decision. I hope that the uncertainty that this delay introduces does not result in students abandoning their college plans.

What isn't being said when we say temporary fix: Students will submit an incomplete FAFSA to colleges. Students will not receive an SAI (because the parent income information isn't being transmitted to college) so they still aren't any closer to knowing what college will cost. Students will not receive a financial aid award any sooner. Colleges aren't confirming that they are reserving financial aid or housing for students who have been able and still are unable to complete the form with fidelity. This temporary fix isn't even a bandaid at this point. https://lnkd.in/dymjNisf
