✨ What's your True North? ✨ As a social impact organization, we encounter lots of decisions. Who do we partner with and how? What is our pricing strategy? What guides a hiring decision, or the everyday ways of working in our company? How do we resolve conflict, or respond to feedback? Who will be our investors? How do we talk about ourselves on our website? We're not alone in the burden of decision-fatigue. We know that the Okkanti community of birthworkers and health equity organizations face all these big and little questions everyday. We've found that when we have a clear sense of who we are and what we stand for, and it's really embedded in our DNA, these decisions become easier. If you're finding it hard sometimes to get beyond the 'personalities' of your leadership or teams (especially, our friends building collectives!) it may be time to find the voice and heart of your organization. Did you know that I LOVE speaking?! It’s true. I love speaking so much I’ve won awards because of it and was even elected president of my local Toastmasters Club. But besides all that, why do I really love to speak? The answer is simple: it energizes me. There’s nothing else like the rush of speaking for an audience as small as 20 or one as big as 2,000 or greater. In one half hour speech or workshop, I can help dramatically change lives. It’s thrilling!! I speak about wellness. Goal achievement. Process improvement. All the things that matter to designing a life you love.
