GPS trackers are not one size fits all. Fleet managers depend on hardware to get the data they need in GpsGate. The signals required to make decisions for cold chain fleets in Sweden differ from those depended on by forestry departments in Spain. With the needs of global fleets growing, GpsGate stays hardware agnostic to help solve real-world challenges every day. 📢 This is game-changer and we’re proud to be part of it. 👇 We’ve undertaken our first successful trial of the radical heli-saw – a specialised tree-trimming saw hanging from a helicopter. The heli-saw, owned by Lakeview Helicopters in Taupō, was trialled by us in a forestry block in Kuratau near Taupō last month. 🚁🌲 In just over an hour the heli-saw trimmed 950 metres of radiata pine along a corridor housing a 33kV network line. The trial was sensational, saving weeks and weeks of work and thousands of dollars. This has huge potential to transform our industry by keeping trees off power lines in a safe and cost-effective way. ✅ And with massive forestry blocks across our network, the potential to minimise power outages, especially during big storms like Cyclone Gabrielle, is significant. 🌪⛈ Read more detail here https://lnkd.in/gA_nM_mg. But in the meantime, big thanks to the crew at Lakeview for sharing this technology with us, and to the forestry sector for taking an interest. 🚁🌲🙌💡 #KeepingYouConnected #GameChanger #Helisaw #ForestryNZ #PowerLines

In my recent work, I successfully addressed cloudy pixels in Sentinel-2 satellite imagery by replacing them with clear pixels from Landsat 8,9 data. This innovative approach enhances the accuracy and completeness of composite images, enabling more precise monitoring of land cover, vegetation health, and environmental changes. Especially useful in areas prone to heavy cloud cover, this technique offers invaluable insights crucial for applications such as agriculture, forestry, urban planning, and disaster management. This underscores the critical need for advanced image processing methods to maximize the utility of satellite data and deepen our understanding of Earth's systems. Preparing for "the NFI of Texas", fourth round: 2007, 2013, 2019 and now in 2024. Texas forest holding (56 ha) in Hyytiälä is where the forestry students at U Helsinki follow the timber resources by both ground and remote sensing observations. It's amazing what can be seen by just contrasting two high-density airborne LiDAR scans of 2018 and 2023. Green depicts growth, red decline, dark grey patches are trees disappearing from the scene. Lots of snow breaks in the high-altitude area in 2010 and 2019. Interesting to follow which tree individuals recover from the loss. All this is possible by funding arranged by prof. Markus Holopainen, prof. Jaana Bäck and the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. Forests are managed by Metsähallitus. Jaana Bäck Markus Holopainen Laura Alakukku

Agrowing introduces the world’s first effective high-altitude 11 narrow bands multispectral sensor, with 6.8cm per pixel per band at 1Km altitude. Forestry multispectral surveys are incredibly useful for monitoring and managing forests, but they come with several challenges, the first of these is the data quality and resolution*. Agrowing’s multispectral dual-purpose sensor is based on a modified Sony ILX-LR1 camera body, which can also be used as a mapping RGB camera of 61MP with a clip-in IR-cut filter. With 6.8cm per pixel per band at 1Km altitude across 11 narrow spectral bands spreading from 405nm to 850nm, and weighing 430g, Agrowing’s sensor is the only affordable solution for high-quality multispectral forestry surveys. 🚀With the rapid advancement of technology, we can now accomplish many tasks that were once impossible. Thermal imaging technology, in particular, has unlocked new possibilities across industries, especially in safety, where its applications are expanding rapidly. 🔥Forest fires can be triggered by human factors, and the processes of daily monitoring and post-incident investigations of arsonists are extremely challenging. Dual-Spectrum PTZ Camera, known for their speed, accuracy, safety, and reliability, play a vital role in forest fire surveillance, greatly assisting forestry departments in performing their monitoring duties more effectively. The integration of thermal imaging technology not only enhances fire prevention efforts but also equips forestry departments with a powerful tool to safeguard our green homeland through technological innovation. #Raythink #thermal #thermalcamera #thermalimaging #infrared #infraredcamera #safety #wildfire #fire #point #nightvision #night

Unimog – A legend through the ages Since its introduction as an exemplary ‘do-it-all’ vehicle in the late 1940’s, the Unimog has gone from strength to strength, securing its unwavering reputation as the ultimate multitasker. As word spread about the Unimog’s remarkable robustness and adaptability, the 60’s and 70’s saw a surge in the ranges of Unimog on offer. True off-road warriors. Larger, more modern, with greater engine output and higher payloads than previous models, and further mounting points for specialised equipment; The ‘Mog was more productive than ever. Today, the Unimog’s unmatched off-road abilities and implement use are relied on by countless industries – from fire and rescue services and powerline support to forestry and agriculture sectors. A true icon. Pictured: A U1500 from the 425 series. #Unimog #Unimoglife #Unimogcommunity #Unimoghistory #offroad
