The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into cyber weaponry heralds a concerning trend: the rise of subtle, human-mimicking attacks that leverage AI's adaptive capabilities. These 'Offensive AI' initiatives are poised to mutate and expertly compromise systems, minimizing detection chances, and scaling malicious operations. This isn't a distant concept; the foundational elements for AI-powered cyber threats are already in place. Here are three key ways adversarial AI will impact cybersecurity: 1️⃣ - Impersonating Trusted Users: AI-driven attacks will learn and replicate individual behaviors, crafting near-indistinguishable messages that seem authentic. Even the most vigilant individuals will find it challenging to discern these crafted communications from genuine ones, making our inboxes vulnerable entry points for attacks. 2️⃣ - Stealthy Presence: Advanced threat actors already operate covertly in systems for extended periods. AI will further enhance this stealth, learning communication channels and navigating systems discreetly. Its ability to blend into routine activities will facilitate widespread compromise across digital environments. 3️⃣ - Swift and Precise Attacks: Offensive AI will expedite the sophistication of attacks, achieving in moments what currently takes skilled technicians months. Its understanding of context and rapid data analysis will heighten effectiveness and make detection even more challenging. This evolution poses a significant challenge to traditional security controls. The predictability they rely on is no match for AI's evolving capabilities. As AI resistance to threat categorization grows, it's clear that legacy security approaches will struggle to combat these increasingly sophisticated threats. New joint guidance from Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National Security Agency's AI Intelligence Security Center, and international partner agencies issued best practices for deploying and operating externally developed artificial intelligence (AI) systems. Goals of the new international interagency guidance include: 1. Improve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of AI systems.  2. Ensure there are appropriate mitigations for known vulnerabilities in AI systems. 3.
