An estimated 12,000,000 patients are misdiagnosed in the U.S. every year. To aid cancer detection in service members, the United States Department of Defense teamed up with Google Cloud. Together, they built an AI-powered microscope that can analyze digitized tissue samples to accurately find abnormalities. This cutting-edge tool, called the Augmented Reality Microscope (ARM), can help physicians make diagnostic and treatment decisions and lower overall health care costs. In the future, ARM can be trained to recognize other diseases, helping improve diagnostic care for all.
