Meat or not meat? 🥩 This week the Dutch Meatable did the first consumer tasting of lab-meat (cultured meat). 🇪🇺 Within the EU it is not (yet) allowed to sell cultured meat. But in the Netherlands it is now allowed to organize tastings. 🇸🇬 Singapore was the first country to allow cultured meat in to the market. 💰 Companies like Steakholder Foods (Nasdaq: STKH), JBS USA, BRF, are among the 150 companies globally that invest heavily in cultured meat. In The Netherlands we have besides Meatable, Mosa Meat, that received an investment of Leonardo DiCaprio. 👨🍳 Dutch renowned Master chef Ron Blaauw did the tasting together with Prince Constantijn Van Oranje-Nassau of Techleap. (Picture below by nu.nl) 🌱Although not plant based meat this is a huge step forward in becoming more sustainable. Off course there are debates, as there should be. Fact is that this is happening and will support saving forrests! When are you eating the first cultured meat? 🍔 Looking forward to the first hamburger joint that is all plant based- ánd cultured meat. Great if Dutch companies can be at the forefront of the impactful business! I say Rotterdam 2025. #CulturedMeat #TechLeap Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) #Meatable #MosaMeat

How Doritos nachos are made [Publication sponsored by PepsiCo] Today is a real treat for nachos fans and advanced tech buffs. We are touring the most advanced and environmentally sustainable PepsiCo facility in the European Union, located in Święte, near Środa Śląska. We explored the production process in this factory, and here are some figures: 🦾 Corn kernels are stored in silos, each with a capacity of 120 tons. 🦾 20,000 kilograms of nachos are produced from their contents. 🦾 3,000 liters of rapeseed oil are needed for frying. All of this is made possible by advanced technology, which is used literally at every step of the production process. Find out who invented nachos, what makes them so crispy and why they don’t crumble by watching the latest episode of "Factories in Poland" – see you there! 🙂 #industry #production #food #factories #foodindustry #FabrykiwPolsce

Knut Lillienau has hit the nail on the head. Small food producers often face the challenge of delivering high-quality products while competing with industry giants. It can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Our in-pack cooking, and pasteurization technology enables small sized companies to produce the same high-quality meals as the big players, and with the added benefit of flexibility in scaling. And while we are here, let’s talk about scaling. Scaling in the food industry isn’t easy, especially when you're trying to grow quickly without breaking the bank. With the right technology, it becomes more manageable. The Micvac method is designed to support growth at any stage - whether you’re just entering the market or expanding rapidly. Big or small, we’re here to help you grow without the growing pains. #ScalingUp #FoodProduction #Micvac _________________________________________ This insight with Knut Lillienau, Owner/CEO of Grön Ko (www.gronko.se) comes from our panel discussion at Anuga FoodTec 2024.
