🎤 One of the many chats Chloe Dalton OAM from The Female Athlete Project and I have had in the last few months [𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘣𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘥 + 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴]. 🏆

I've been studying and working in and around the futures/foresight space for over a decade now. In a former life, however, I worked in high-performance sport as both an athelte and a coach - two careers that seem unrelated on first glance.
Though I haven't played elite sport in years, it has always been a part of my futures practice, regardless of the topic or industry I'm exploring.
Sport, particularly in Australia, is an interesting setting where culture is expressed and transmitted, where narrative plays a powerful role in shaping collective identity, aspirations, and visions of the future.
It can also illuminate cultural signifiers that help us to see the edges of our social fabric, the contradictions. We can see cultural influences, variations and manifestations - the interplay of implicit and explicit language, and even more interesting (to me at least), is noticing the absence of certain language in sports settings and what that might signify from a social change perspective...

In the last couple of years it's been great to work more intentionally 'inside sport' (this time as a futurist) alongside a range of other brilliant minds looking to shape better sporting futures...... Chloe Dalton OAM, World Players Association, AFL Players' AssociationAustralian Cricketers' Association, Kate Thomas.... the list goes on!

When we think of a a preferred future of women’s sports, blow open the ideas - do some radical imagining.
"If we have a narrow view based on what we think is or isn't, that shapes how we act and the investments that we do or don't make in women's sport."

Let's Chaat!
A few months back Luke Biddle and I decided to start a podcast. Around the same time we had the incredible Danny Inman appear at the Manchester Property and Poppadoms launch. Naturally, it seemed perfect to have Danny as our first Let's Chaat! guest.
In this first episode of Let's Chaat, we look at The Human Side of Property, delving into Danny's fascinating journey, as a former professional rugby player turned property mogul.
We discover how Danny transitioned from the sports field to dominating the UK property market, developing a substantial portfolio and founding the influential Prosperity Network.
