🩷Really important to address the balance and normalise women in sport for our next generation. 💡I think it’s also important to think beyond the career of a sports woman. 🤔Consider the bigger picture of the role modelling that comes with normalising women in sport and the enormous knock on effect that would have to influence more female sports participation and encouragement to be more active. 🤎Then consider the implications of this in Women’s Health in the later years wrt #musclemass and the #menopause. ➡️The statistic is that: 50% of women over age 50, will suffer an #osteoporoticfracture once in their lifetime. 🙌As a #physiotherapist, I play a key role in helping women get stronger and be more active with suitable activities to increase muscle mass, bone density whilst aiding joint protection. 👆Liaising with the fitness industry is a key collaborative part of this along with metabolic bone disease dietary and prescriptive medicine considerations. There is still so much to be done but it all starts with healthy attitudes to women in sport from all genders and a multi-disciplinary approach💪 #charteredphysiotherapist #womeninsport
