WHATS YOUR BACK UP PLAN? From 1987 and for 30 years I owned my Ad Agency, I always had a back up plan on pretty much everything on a business and personal level. How many of you can truly say the same. I have said it many many times - "There is far too much reliance on technology" and many instances have proved this over the last few years. If your business is totally reliant on technology and you don't have a non technology back up, you are in a dangerous place - in my opinion. Then March 2020 hit and the government have been trying to force us down a cashless route and a central digital currency. I don't know about you, but we should avoid this like the plague. Cash is king and we need to keep it flowing through society. Without it many people and many businesses will suffer. Since March 2020, we have become far too reliant on making the smallest purchases - even for under £1 - on a card. Why not make a decision to use cash for anything under £5 or £10. If we all did that we would be in a far better place as a nation This article shows the impact when people are not set up to pay cash and I wonder how many will change their habits as a result - my guess is very few

It's probably only me, but have you considered your Interchange & Scheme Fee Bill to fill a stadium? A West Ham season ticket costs between £345 and £1,720 (great value to see some of the best football in the game) and there are c.55k season tickets. That's an interchange and scheme fee bill somewhere between £50k-£200k per year! For context, the bill is c.1 week of Bowen's salary, but I'd rather see it go towards 1 week of Bowen's magic than a bank or a scheme! This "back-of-the-envelope" assumes all payments are from UK debit cards and excludes other payment fees. If all payments were on UK credit cards the bill would be 1/3 higher.
