The Historic Greenwood Neighborhood, once known as Black Wall Street, is seeing an investment from Microsoft and Black Tech Street, a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based initiative focused on revitalizing Black Wall Street as the premiere Black Tech #Innovation Economy. Together, Microsoft and Black Tech Street launched an alliance, “The Digital Transformation of Black Wall Street,” with ambitions to restore the neighborhood as a hub for Black talent in #STEM-focused fields. With a goal to hire approximately 1,000 Black Tulsa residents who specialize in #cyber and similar #career areas by 2030, the investments that will come from this partnership aim to build a pipeline for talent as well as support the talent brought in. One example investment is the integration of Tulsa Community College into the Microsoft #Cybersecurity Scholarship Program. The program provides cash scholarships to students from underrepresented communities who receive training at the community college’s Cyber Skills Center.
