The fight for racial equity rages on. We cannot overstate the importance of movies such as Six Triple Eight, which teach us of historical, horrible racist cruelties in a war to end genocide, and wake us up to the hard, cold fact of the continued onslaught of today’s deadly racism. Ask yourselves, what can I do to right this world? What part have I played in keeping others down? Today is that day. If you haven’t watched this show, start today.

That’s why in my book, Calculated Love, I threw every reparation for Black women I could imagine into a higher ed system that SLAUGHTERS Black women without giving second thoughts about their livelihoods and lives. Yesterday was disappointing for all the Black women entrepreneurs who were counting on this program to support their businesses. It’s a stark reminder that systemic racism is still very much alive and well in our society, and that we must continue to fight for equality and justice for all. It’s also a reminder that we can’t rely on the government or the courts to do the right thing – we have to support each other and lift each other up. We’re all we’ve got, and we have to stand together in the face of injustice. We stand with @fearless.fund and all Black women entrepreneurs, and we will continue to fight for a more just and equitable society. Leadership despite adversity. This movie was a great depiction of strength and determination. Understanding how to recognize that although some people may not want you to succeed, that you have the ability to overcome and persevere! Her Leadership in this movie highlighted a few things… 1. Discipline and Accountability- She made her expectations clear and challenged the girls. She held them to a standard of decorum. She also challenged her superior in this very moment, standing up for her team and their work despite what was being said or thought. 2. Empathy- She paid attention to when things happened, allowed for the ladies to express themselves and accommodated them on things that truly mattered to them. 3. Collaboration and Collective listening- When the mail kept getting returned, she reached out to her ladies to hear their thoughts and suggestions, incorporating them in the strategy to achieving their goal. 4. Recognition- When the ladies did a good job, she told them! 5. Vision - The task seemed small to her at first but when she realized the magnitude of the situation, she recognized the level of impact her team had to a bigger purpose. She drove that stance to make sure they understood why they were there and what they were there to do! Despite what they said about her to her face and behind her back, she continued to drive forward achieving what she knew to be success, which was far beyond what people expected of her. It was a movie, but I took a lot from it. Leadership is what you make it and this was a great example!

Root Cause Analysis. Why does DEI exists? DEI is a hot topic yet ask yourself if the world was equitable and people have good spiritual intentions the following laws would not need said law. Other laws to ensure that all have a equitable chance. After the hire Look up ADA, Ledbetter Act, GINA, and Anti Age discrimination laws. With education start with the basics Board v Brown.etc. If you use DEI or question one demographic then go and ask it for everyone was this a DEI hire fill in the blank(s).
