As the Orchard Beach Pavilion Reconstruction project is historic and landmarked, it is a top priority to preserve as many of the original elements of the facility as possible. To be successful in this effort, no stone has been left unturned – literally. When it came to reusing elements such as pavers, stone, terracotta, and limestone, the team removed every panel from the building, and worked with Building Conservation Associates, Inc. to examine and determine the plan for each piece. By utilizing dutchman and pin repair methods, the team was able to restore the original panels, greatly reducing the need for replacements.   Gilbane Building Company is proud to be working to push the needle on sustainability.
