Yes, we will need a new social contracts and technology solutions to accommodate these evolutionary challenges. On the issue of representation, we must first attach AI agents to the people they represent in a way that our current server-side systems are not designed for. When we finally establish personhood in the digital realm, it will not only transform the ethical landscape, it will enable us to return to first principles for a new legal system. AI Agents will become our pathway for citizenship in #Cyberwealths.  Go deeper. Think bigger. There is no spoon.

After Red Hat changing its open source licenses for enterprise licenses, or the acquisition of HashiCorp (mostly known for Terraform) by IBM raising questions on the future of many workers and these open source projects, https://lnkd.in/dP7QSFtc, the movement of tech workers does not remain inactive and counteract by creating alternatives like OpenTofu. At the same time, the wild and extremely fast development of AI and LLMs triggers the need for auto-regulation by tech workers themselves like this one, Data Workers. The infamous attack of XZ-Utils (https://lnkd.in/dNJbbZtp) has shown the threats of patient malicious actors that could have generated huge security breaches unnoticed without the curiosity and talent of an open source maintainer. This again sparks the idea of more fundamental democratic initiatives calling for public institutions capable of maintaining and protecting the open source tools which are the basis of a huge number of our IT tools and used by billions of people daily (check the idea of Tim Bray advocating for Open Source Quality Institutes: https://lnkd.in/dXJv35bq). As a fan of ensemble learning and someone who enjoyed applying Random Forests on time-series, I was quite excited to read the paper "More Agents is All You Need" (link below). The paper highlights how the collaboration between multiple agents can improve the performance of LLMs. More specifically, the authors propose a simple sampling-and-voting method, in which they show how the performance of the LLM can be improved by increasing the ensemble size (the number of agents). Going through this paper, I couldn't help but imagine a bunch of AI Agents debating and making decisions. I hope they don't mimic our political practices and vote along party-lines regardless of what they believe is right 😅 But at least there will be no occasional fist-fights within the "walls" of AI Parliaments 🏛 🤖 😆 #ai #aiagents #llms https://lnkd.in/dsP5Bee8 [image generated by AI]
