Just about 2 years ago I had the opportunity to discuss the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that's helping in funding FOAK clean energy demonstrations to get us down the cost curve through learning by doing ... and then the Inflation Reduction Act that passed in August, 2022 - to provide the tax credits to incentivize NOAK and ultimately wide-scale deployment. These coupled policies are critical to our success, and future generations will look back and take notice of this inflection point in history!

It was a pleasure to record the latest European Round Table for Industry - ERT podcast, 21st century industrialists, and to discuss all things #energytransition: where Europe is now, where we need to get to and how we do it.   It’s clear that our energy transition is now entering a new phase and the conversation has shifted from the “should we” to rather “how can we”. Here there are two points I would make. Firstly we must drive the active participation of the European citizens and secondly we have to make good energy work also with regard to systemic costs and industry prices to remain competitive in a decarbonising world.   Well-made electrification will provide greater security, lower emissions and a lever for lowering prices. The quicker the progress, the bigger the win wins. So, let’s get on with delivering that, scaling up our grid infrastructure and electrifying Europe.
