This is exactly what is wrong with American politics and the caricatures that seek to serve in higher office. American politics particularly our debates aren't a reflection of candidates preparedness to serve the American public when they get into office, it's only what they're are prepared to continue to do as we're witnessing in our nation's capital. Substantive foreign and domestic policies, fiscal accountability and responsibility, balancing our budgets, curbing inflation, addressing the issues of an economy that is crushing average Americans as myself on a daily issue, tackling our nation's debt in a responsible manner without severely penalizing middle-class America, are the bread and butter issues that we're interested in.These debates lack substance and continue to draw the laughter from our nation's allies and the rest of the world. What we've morphed into is not who we were called to be. Questions surround our ability to lead internationally especially now since we've dwindled our capital as a fixture on the preservation of democracy. We call out autocratic regimes and their leaders but we continue to seek to impose draconian measures on minorities in particular, with state legislatures enacting jerrymandered voting blocs only to insert their hold on the powered majority. We have a lot to repair if we are to be taken as serious contenders towards the preservation of democracy and our credibility especially on the domestic front. This debate wasn't a sideshow, it was a Circus. Smh!
