#Day3
Last night afterwork, I found myself in the company of ex-colleagues, each immersed in their own chapter of the work-life novel, a common thread emerged—an unspoken yearning for 'safety' as responsibilities stack up.
One colleague, burning the midnight oil, spoke of the solace found in the hum of the office AC. Another, drafting the perfect 'Out of Office' email, eagerly anticipated the upcoming break. A third, navigating the peaks and valleys of year-end projects, shared tales of impact and exhaustion.
Later on that same night, I went to see my high school friends, we gathered at a friend's restaurant. While sharing high school memories filled with laughters interwoven with life's stories, a subtle truth lingered in the air. It was slowly but surely building up in my mind..
The conversation pivoted to the delicate balance between chasing dreams and embracing the comfort of 'safety.' It's that nuanced shift in pace, a rhythm that grows more cautious as responsibilities deepen.
For me, it echoes in the hum of my motorcycle's engine—a passion ignited in my 30s. The thrill is undeniable, the wind on my face a reminder of newfound freedom. Yet, with every turn, there's a whisper of caution, an awareness of the added layers of responsibility. As my teacher Abdoulaye Diarra knows quite well 😂.
It's a dance between the thrill of dreams and the embrace of ‘safety.'
The very notion of safety that sometimes masquerades as a cloak of fear—the fear of what-ifs, the fear that accompanies the weight of additional roles and responsibilities.
Does this tug at a familiar chord in your journey? Have you ever felt the echoes of fear as you navigate the balance between dreams and responsibilities? Share your thoughts; let's explore the complex tapestry of our stories together. ⬇️
