2025 is around the corner and the Alliance for Health Policy has exciting plans! The Alliance's 2025 Signature Series will focus on "#Aging in America" and will address the complex #health and #policy needs of an aging America through a year-long series of programs and culminating report. Next year's series will look to explore critical policy questions such as, “What would a health system that is equipped well for an Aging America look like?” and “What do congressional staff need to understand about aging in America?" FUNDAMENTAL FLAWS: We’ve long asserted that the US has a separate and unequal health care system. A comprehensive new federal report by the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), co-authored by MLKCH CEO Dr. Elaine Batchlor, shows how structural racism has undermined decades of policy changes—resulting in little improvement in health outcomes for minorities. The report, “Ending Unequal Treatment: Strategies to Achieve Equitable Health Care and Optimal Health for All'' is a revised and updated edition of a 20-year-old NAM study on confronting racial bias and ethnic disparities in health care.
