Read our new blog: https://lnkd.in/earwwPp7 The leading causes of Critical Illness claims are cancer, heart attack, and strokes. Studies show a significant correlation between Body Mass Index (BMI) and cardiovascular disease (CVD). In this article, Orchis Li examines key findings from Gen Re's Dread Disease Survey for the Asian market to identify the leading causes of critical illness and death claims, the incidence rate of critical illness by BMI, and the factors influencing the incidence of CVD. She concludes that collaborative efforts in prevention and early detection are essential to reduce CVD risks, benefiting both policyholders and insurers. #critialillness #insuranceclaims

🦠Before COVID-19, there was a downward trend in cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality. However, a recent study shows rates are on the rise again, with 9% of CVD-related deaths occurring in excess of what was expected based on trends from 2010 to 2019. This reinforces the need to prioritize CVD prevention and management to optimize patient outcomes. #CVD #HeartHealth #COVID19Impact Source: https://lnkd.in/g2fgBKz3

Here is a prime, and most recent example of correlation being misinterpreted, or miss-presented as causation! This study [1] simply shows a correlation, which is very, very far from proving that fasting CAUSES more heart disease. ------------------ 1. 8-hour time-restricted eating linked to a 91% higher risk of cardiovascular death https://lnkd.in/ddj8YbBx

#Asthma is a common disease, but the true causes of it are poorly understood. Current medications only treat asthma symptoms by clearing the airways and reducing inflammation. The answer to understanding the causes of asthma may lie in #cellextrusion, a process that drives most #epithelial cell death. Having levels of Lp(a) greater than 50 mg/dL or 125 nmol/L is considered high and can put you at risk of heart disease and stroke. The higher the concentration, the higher is the risk. Elevated Lp(a) is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease. 📈 High levels of Lp(a) collect in your arteries, gradually narrowing them and limiting blood supply to the heart. A mix-up of the units mg/dL and nmol/L is a source of major confusion, therefore make sure you know your numbers and measured units! 🫀 🎥 To learn more, watch: https://lnkd.in/eWgJ535j Register for our webinar: https://lnkd.in/eU6-4Tvt #LpaAwarenessDay #PeopleLikeUs #UseHeart #VoteHealth2024 #KnowLpa #FHEurope
