A new school year can be stressful, so we asked members of our Parent PEERS Employee Resource Group to share tips for preparing for the first day. To help students start the school year off on the right foot, members of Parent PEERS (Providing Education, Encouragement, Resources, and Support) and employees across GEICO, helped us donate over 70,000 school supplies as part of our I Am Ready program. Their efforts will create equity by alleviating financial strain on parents, helping over 10,000 children feel more prepared for the first day of school. We hope they, and all students and parents, have a great year! #BacktoSchool

#FinancialCapabilityMonth is winding down! Have you taken the opportunity to support our #FinanciallyFearless campaign? The post below underscores one of the biggest reasons you should participate and why I am so committed to this organization. Financial education and mentorship disrupt generational cycles. Every teen who learns how to manage their money sends a ripple through their whole community. Join me by donating: https://lnkd.in/gQBmdCcu If you are unable to donate or already have, please share this post!
Financial capability for teens isn’t just about individuals: it’s about communities. Did you know that 78% of teens who participate in SecureFutures’ Money Sense program say they share what they learned with family and friends? They’ve helped their parents establish savings goals, taken siblings to open their first bank account, and supported friends in learning to budget. And that benefits all of us. 🔄 There’s still a week left in #FinancialCapabilityMonth. Donate today to help teens become #FinanciallyFearless and communities become stronger! https://bit.ly/4ckpuBM

Do you remember those excursions you took in primary school? How about when you had someone come in an speak to you about mental health? Remember the fun you had and how much you learned. Now imagine not being able to have this chance because the school can’t afford to send you. It's really important to have these experiences throughout school but lots of schools aren’t as lucky to be able to afford to run these programs on their own. With your help we can give these students the chance to have these experiences. Every dollar helps students get experiences they wouldn’t get just because of where they live. Right now all donations are doubled. For $30 you can ensure a student can attend an excursion, for $45 you can ensure 6 children get to attend an in-school session on wellbeing, for $400 you can pay fund half the cost of transport for a whole class. Donate now to double your impact. Donate at https://lnkd.in/g2nyQT-d

Children not being able to read in America is unacceptable. More than 50% of them not being able to read is everyone’s problem. We know better. At REED Charitable Foundation we just want to help universities, districts, schools, teachers and parents to have access to professional development and support that will help them make an impact for all of their students. This crisis requires collaboration. It is too big to tackle alone and the impact of getting it wrong is too great. #UntilEveryTeacherIsTrained #UntilEveryChildCanRead

For the month of July, our Who I Am Foundation volunteers in #Albuquerque are hosting our 11th Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive to help children in need begin the school year with all of the tools they need for academic success. With so many uncertainties about how children will return to school and what the classroom will look like, they need your help more than ever. Families with children in K-12 spent a projected $519 per child on back-to-school needs last year. For families in low-income neighborhoods, the costs are simply not realistic. Donating new school supplies to children in disadvantaged communities will make an impact on their ability to begin the school year school-ready. Items we are collecting: -Pencils -Pens -Composition Books -Combination Locks -Scientific Calculators -5-Subject Notebooks -Tissues -Hand Sanitizer -Wet Wipes -Trapper Keepers -Colored Pencils -Markers -Protractors -Paint Sets -Glue Bottles -Notebook Paper -Highlighters -Scissors -Sharpeners -Pocket Folders To donate, simply comment below and we'll have a volunteer coordinate a donation pick up!! #TeamWhoIAm_Albuquerque

How do Playtime programs prepare children for a healthy, happy, and stable future? Our trauma-informed play curriculum is designed to support social-emotional learning skills, problem-solving skills, and optimism and hope for the future. Play is fun but it's also integral to a child's healthy development, especially for children experiencing housing insecurity or other trauma. If you are able, a donation (of any amount!) to our Spring Campaign between now and May 15 makes a difference. Every gift helps us reach our total goal of $60,000 by May 15. 🗞 Read the blog: https://bit.ly/blog0424 💟 Learn more and donate: bit.ly/springcampaign24 #SpringIntoPlaytime #playtimeproject #playequity #playforall #playmatters #socialemotionallearning #childhooddevelopment #DoMore24 #socialemotionalskills #playtherapy #playlearning #playbasedlearning #powerofplay #traumainformed #childdevelopment
