Maintenance is a critical component to public safety that is increasingly becoming a challenge. The exodus of many experienced FAA licensed aircraft mechanics is lead ing a void to fill with lessor experienced mechanics and lack of oversight. It is much more profitable for Aircraft engine OEM to invest in MRO as today due to supply chain issue , production of new aircrafts and so new engine is at the lowest meaning existing aircraft will have to last longer waiting for arrival of new aircrafts ! Margin on MRO works are much higher than on brand new engines and Engine OEM are not really pushing so strong to increase volume§
