"Whilst my Masters was hugely beneficial and taught me a lot about the theory of flight, I didn't feel like I was a 'real' engineer until after I gained experience in the professional engineering world. Professional registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) acknowledges this delta between being an academic and an engineer in a way that is universally understood and respected. I've always had professional registration as a goal in my career, and my graduate scheme actively encouraged me to work towards it. My decision to take the plunge and put my accumulated experience to the test was compounded by the encouragement I received from the Principal Engineer in my team, and the opportunity to progress in my airworthiness career with a CEng." In what ways has registration benefitted your career? "Becoming a CEng directly benefitted my career by making me eligible to hold a Letter of Airworthiness Authority, a privilege delegated from the Chief Engineer allowing me to sign off on solutions and giving me responsibility for my area." How does your employer benefit from your professional registration? "My employer actively encourages professional registration as they need people who are able to hold responsibility. Wondering… Given that 50% of the new aircraft are composite, and (to my knowledge) not seen a great change in the training of new engineers. So,do that mean there will be less need for specific training due to them being built like a tank, or? : -we just doing same old.same old? -we hope by the time it becomes an issue, we can leave it till the next generation? Or -there is not enough forward thinking on the technical support that will be required for the future.

I am so glad to share with you that I completed the basic introduction for undergraduate aeronautical engineers, phase 1. In EGYPTAIR TRAINING ACADEMY I got a lot of information about Airframe Structure, Aircraft Structure, Cargo Loading, Pneumatic, Air Conditioning, Pressurization System,Ice and Rain Protection, Hydraulic, Flight Controls, Landing Gear, Oxygen System, Water and Waste, Galley Services, Structure Repair, Non-Destructive test, Safety Equipment, Ground Handling Systems, Electrical Systems, Avionics, Fasteners, Control Cables,Tubing, and Welding

Our first CESA class July- Sept 2024 (Centro de Entranmiento en Soldadura Aeroespacial) using the concept of a welding course, the team at Senior Aerospace Mexico started this metal fitter tacker class as a way to get skilled, new hires, up to speed in 10 short weeks. This course is lead with 2 bilingual trainers from SSP (myself 10yrs exp & Ezequiel Soto 20 yrs exp in accordance with engineers from SAM) Upon graduating from the class, the fitters will understand not only how to cut and fit parts, will learn how to use different measuring tools, how to prep the parts for weld and have a class session to identify welding discontinuities, given by the lead engineers. This course is a way to help guide new hires into production without slowing down the production flow. What are peoples thoughts on the SETO qualification from the MCA? Worth it? Pointless? Discuss... "The term ‘Senior Electro-technical Officer’ (SETO) is not recognised by the STCW Convention. However, the UK is using the term to indicate an ETO who has exceeded the STCW requirements, both in terms of academic standard and service. To obtain a SETO endorsement in your Certificate of Competency you must:  (a) Hold a UK ETO CoC; (b) Have successfully completed a HND/Advanced Diploma, Foundation Degree or Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering; (c) Meet the seagoing service requirements listed in section 5.2; (d) Hold an HELM management course completion certificate given by an MCA approved training provider; (e) Hold an High Voltage management certificate given by an MCA approved training provider; (f) Pass a SETO MCA examination. 5.2 Seagoing service requirement for SETO Before being issued with a SETO endorsement the following seagoing service is required: (a) Complete 12 months’ seagoing service as an ETO after being issued with an ETO CoC; (b) For existing ETOs only (see section 3.4), a total of 24 months’ seagoing service as an ETO or carrying out similar duties14. " #mimo #robertsonetos #ETO #AVIT #superyachts #superyachting #yachting #engineering #engineering #technical #electrical #yacht #yachts #linkedin #electrician #connectivity #design #management #electrotechnicalofficer #crew #recruitment
