Production of these manuals is critical to Intel's business because they are the principal way in which Intel enables the development of software for its CPU products. (The documents are the Intel 64 and IA-32 Architectures Software Developer's Manual and the Intel Architecture Instruction Set Extensions and Future Features Programming Reference; responsibilities may include other manuals as needs arise. The SDM is currently over 5,000 pages in length.) Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Producing, maintaining, and updating, Intel's manuals to meet customer needs at a timely and regular release cadence (current cadence is quarterly).
