Well said Mr. President! By the year 2050, Africa is expected to house 0.25% of the world's population. The online grocery delivery market is poised for significant growth, with a projected increase of 21.6% by 2028, reaching 211.6 million users in Africa. Additionally, African countries are projected to experience an average GDP growth of 3.5% in 2024, surpassing the USA's projected growth rate of 2.1%. It's surprising when some investors express concern about our future plans (not having American/ European presence) and overlook African potential. Africa is a powerhouse of opportunity! Today Director Vidal posts: "It’s been a productive couple weeks internationally for USPTO with our incredible team wrapping up the DipCon in Geneva today and with the U.S. 🇺🇸 entering into an MoU with the UAE 🇦🇪 to enhance our IP collaboration for the benefit of innovation, our economies and our stakeholders." Meanwhile, Kathi Vidal, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property, back home in Alexandria, it has been a scandalous couple weeks internationally, including the unprecedented request by the the Israel Patent Attorneys Association and the Israeli #AIPPA that the USPTO should undertake measures to ensure that a specific application is examined without bias and to determine whether statistics demonstrate that Israeli applications or inventors are given worse treatment by USPTO examiners. Today I learned about a Ningaloo Nino which I had never heard of before. It is the name for a regional weather phenomenon along the western shore of Australia, in which anomalously warm sea surface temperatures result due to the land-sea interaction and northerly alongshore winds. This is the end of a rabbit hole that started with the MJO, then the South Pacific Convergence Zone, then the IPO, and finally the Ningaloo Nino.
