✈️🌍 For over a decade, UAV DACH - Association for Unmanned Aviation has been at the forefront of advocating for safe drone operations worldwide. Through active participation in international working groups, the organization has consistently provided invaluable facts and data to regulators, facilitating the development of appropriate rules to ensure the safe integration of drones into airspace.
One of UAV DACH's key contributions lies in its direct involvement with the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems (JARUS). By actively engaging with JARUS, UAV DACH helps shape regulations and standards that govern unmanned aerial systems, ensuring they align with industry needs while prioritizing safety.
Moreover, UAV DACH consistently offers insightful comments on emerging standards and supports the comprehensive approach laid out by the EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The threefold approach (open, specific, certified), focusing on risk assessment, adapting experience, and reliability, forms the backbone of UAV DACH's advocacy efforts, aiming to support a robust framework for safe drone operations across Europe.
While the implementation of the Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) may initially pose a higher hurdle for operators, requiring a meticulous risk-based assessment of their operations, the benefits of such a system cannot be overstated. The SORA process, though rigorous, ultimately paves the way for safer and more versatile drone applications, offering operators a wider range of options while ensuring enhanced safety standards.
The Federal Aviation Administration and non EU industry’s acknowledgment of the approach highlights how industry stakeholders outside Europe recognize the significance of our contributions to advancing drone safety standards.
In conclusion, the commendation received from the FAA serves as a testament to UAV DACH's unwavering commitment to promoting safe and responsible drone operations. As we look ahead, we remain dedicated to collaborating with regulators, especially EASA, industry partners, and stakeholders worldwide to further enhance the safety and efficiency of unmanned aerial systems. With continued collective efforts, such as the EUROPEAN DRONE FORUM, we can build a future where drones seamlessly integrate into airspace, unlocking endless possibilities while prioritizing safety above all else.
Well done! 👏👍

Its electrifying!
5moWhile delivery and other cargo drones are set to disrupt the courier and package delivery industry in China, flying taxis are still going to be a premium midmile service vs. a door to door private car, taxi or ridehailing service, with the average person still using the bus, ferry or train.
