Great article for gin makers via The Spirits Business. Working your supply chain, delivering better forecast demands, building in contingencies and finding consistency are all the big talking points i'm coming across right now and this is dead on in terms of the talking points and it's timing. Key takeaways for those who don't have time... ➡️ Supply Challenges: Issues such as geopolitical conflicts (e.g., Ukraine war affecting coriander supply), climate change, and shipping disruptions have made sourcing botanicals way more difficult. ➡️ Local Sourcing: Some producers are increasingly sourcing botanicals locally to mitigate risks associated with international supply chains, but the likes of Juniper remain a universal challenge for all. ➡️ Sustainability Efforts: There is a growing focus on ethical sourcing, with some brands seeking organic or Fairtrade certifications and implementing measures to protect rare botanicals. There's a lot more scrutiny on the supply chain and rightly so. Loads more covered in the article and much more insight to be gleaned. Nice work Nicola Carruthers! https://lnkd.in/e85mbUYb
