What types of markets are there? Gambling is viewed differently in different countries depending on their cultural background, economy, legal system, and political situation. 7️⃣9️⃣ Regulated Markets: Countries have passed laws that make online gambling legal, and online casino operators can obtain a license. 🤲🏼 4️⃣6️⃣ Unregulated Markets: Countries that do not ban online casinos, but do not issue licenses or regulate online gambling. It is not technically illegal; however, there is no regulation. 🔐 7️⃣0️⃣ Prohibited Markets: The country has passed a law or laws that make online gambling illegal. However, in some of these countries, players can still visit online casinos based abroad; it is simply illegal to set up an online gambling operation within that country’s jurisdiction. ❌ Contact us📱 [email protected] https://lnkd.in/eHmYm3Nj #igamingaffiliate #affiliaterevenue #igamingindustry #casinomarketing #affiliatepartnership #igamingaffiliates #affiliatesuccess #onlinebetting #igamingaffiliatemarketing #casinopromotions

In many countries of the world, there is a state organization that issues licenses and establishes rules. In these markets, it is legal to offer online gambling, provided that the company that does so has a license and complies with its terms. 📑 In some of these markets, players can only legally visit sites that are licensed by the local regulator. In other countries, players are free to visit both domestic and foreign platforms.💻 Do you want to get acquainted with the countries we work with and where online gambling is settled? Italy is facing a backlash over its new legislation that aims to tighten the regulation of online gambling. The EGBA claims that the new rules would have a negative impact on the Italian gambling market and consumers, as well as violate the EU law and principles. The most controversial changes are a ban on online gambling advertising and sponsorship, and a 5% tax on online gambling winnings above €200. These changes could reduce consumer awareness of licensed operators and increase the risk of illegal gambling, as well as decrease stability for people working in online gambling. https://lnkd.in/e6bpR4v8

The ACMA has requested Australian internet service providers block more websites after investigations found the services to be operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. Website blocking is one of a range of enforcement options to protect Australians against illegal online gambling. This action can be taken if a service is: • providing prohibited interactive gambling services to customers in Australia (such as online casinos, online slot machines and services that allow in-play online sports betting) • providing an unlicensed regulated interactive gambling service to customers in Australia (such as online betting services that don’t have a valid Australian licence) • publishing ads for prohibited interactive gambling services or unlicensed regulated interactive gambling services in Australia. Since the ACMA made its first blocking request, 945 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked. A further 221 illegal services have also pulled out of the Australian market since the ACMA started enforcing new illegal offshore gambling rules in 2017. Before 2021, the Netherlands Gambling Authority Kansspelautoriteit actively enforced the ban on online gambling, imposing fines on gambling websites attempting to enter the Dutch market. However, after years of legal bargaining, online gambling was finally regulated in the country in 2021. As a result, licensed Dutch gambling websites have become widely available, with most players from the Netherlands choosing these newly officially licensed platforms over black market sites.

In case you missed it, our friends across the ditch will be licensing online casinos from early 2026. The NZ Minister for Internal Affairs noted licensing is how most forms of gambling are regulated in NZ and this move is to "ensure operators meet requirements for consumer protection and harm minimisation, as well as paying tax". Sound familiar? Queensland was the first Australian jurisdiction to provide the legal framework for online casino licensing through the Interactive Gambling (Player Protection) Act 1998, which was quickly quashed through the passage of the federal Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth). It has long been debated whether licensed online gambling v prohibition is the correct way to manage the harm from online gambling. Will be fascinating to see how this plays out in NZ. The National Assembly of Slovenia has expressed growing concern over the persistence of illegal online gambling activities despite regulatory efforts. Inspections in the gambling sector revealed that many online operators were conducting games of chance without the required concessions. These black market entities do not pay the required taxes and offer virtually zero customer protection, raising significant concerns. According to Slovenian gambling laws, operators must obtain a valid concession from the government. This process ensures that companies follow the country’s strict gambling policies and can be held accountable for violations. However, despite regulatory decisions prohibiting illegal activities, many continue to circumvent the rules, prompting the need for more stringent measures. In 2023, Slovenian authorities conducted 115 inspections to monitor and enforce the ban on illegal gambling activities via the Internet and other media. The authorities issued 34 statements against violators who operated without proper licensing. Interestingly, 28 persisted in their activities, disregarding official warnings, causing the Slovenian regulator to prompt the administrative court to issue IP blocks on offending websites.
