In it, we had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Maria EmiliaFigueiredo Teixeira MD, PhD, FESC, Cardiologist and Researcher at the Hypertension Unit of the Federal University of Goiás, Brazil, who shared some results from her research. She presented her findings at the #ACC24 conference recently. 1️⃣ Behavioral Interventions Matter: The FEEL study highlighted the importance of incorporating mind-body interventions in hypertension management. By encouraging patients to engage in gratitude and forgiveness and connecting to their life purpose, significant reductions in blood pressure were observed. 2️⃣ Flow-Mediated Dilation: The study also revealed a significant improvement in flow-mediated dilation (FMD) among the intervention group.
