Fat isn't the enemy when it comes to weight loss. But advanced cholesterol testing is the only way to know how your body is processing fats. These tests go beyond traditional HDL and LDL to include critical biomarkers like Apo B and lipoprotein fractionation—providing a full picture of your cholesterol health. These tests should not be considered a luxury when they’re crucial to gauge heart health yet they’re not offered at your typical annual physical. Get detailed cholesterol tests including Apo B, lipoprotein fractionation, and lipoprotein (a) as part of 100+ lab tests accessed through Function Health.

The type of fats you eat is what matters. If you are eating an adequate amount of healthy fats available in avocado, nuts, etc. then it’s not a problem. Thank you for spreading the awareness, Function Health

The book is great! Thanks for spreading this info! "Whole, real, low-glycemic (low in sugar and refined carbs), high-fat (good fat), phytonutrient-rich food heals, while high-carb, low-fat, processed foods harm. The National Institute of Health spends $800 million a year trying to discover the cause of obesity. Hmm. Could it be that the average American every year consumes 29 pounds of French fries, 23 pounds of pizza, 24 pounds of ice cream, 57 gallons of soda, [and] 24 pounds of artificial sweeteners...? We consume about 152 pounds of sugar, 146 pounds of white flour, and 600 pounds of dairy per person each year in this country. Doesn’t seem like any great mystery to me why we’re in an obesity crisis!" - Mary Hyman

Very informative😎. I am one who needs to watch cholesterol, seems I’m in the gene pool of high cholesterol. Any idea for me to manage above what is mentioned? 🤓

I am the epitome of health... so I thought! Mostly because I do eat clean and pay attention to what I put in and on my body. However, after this extensive testing, with both my HDL cholesterol and my LDL cholesterol being normal I learned that my body isn't processing fats the way it should, putting me at risk. Learning more about this has been absolutely eye opening. Our bodies are so complex, yet so fascinating and brilliant! Thank you Mark Hyman, MD for creating this platform and for constantly educating your audience! This is changing lives!

Such an important topic! I have seen many clients get their cholesterol back into balance by quitting sugar and processed foods. So good to know that these advanced tests give a clear picture that normal analysis wouldn't give.

Thank you for the added info. I would like to know know more about what you do in some depth!!

You're right. Advanced cholesterol testing is often overlooked but incredibly important. Fat isn't the enemy; it's about how your body processes it. 📌

What about the ratio of omega-6 and omega-3, how important is that?
