Happy National Lame Duck Day! There seems to be a day for everything in the vast calendar of observances. Today, we spotlight an unusual yet intriguing celebration – National Lame Duck Day. While it might initially bring images of waterfowl with mobility challenges to mind, its origins are deeply rooted in politics, referring to those in office whose successors have already been elected, symbolizing a period of transition where power is essentially diminished.
