With Stormgate's summer Early Access release rapidly approaching, we thought it would be fun to reflect on the journey that led us to this point. Don’t be scared off by “esports”—with Stormgate, it’s OK if you’re not a competitive gamer. The majority of RTS players aren’t either! Competition is just one of our game pillars (The “Four Cs”)—along with Campaign, Cooperative, and Custom Games. That said, the impact RTS has had on the global esports phenomenon is undeniable thanks to how much fun it is to watch. Even back when Stormgate was in pre-alpha, our playtesters were already organizing and watching fun tournaments featuring some of the best RTS players in the world.
