Astro Tech -- F9P RTK GPS GPS satellites are 12,550 miles above the earth surface. Using the ublox F9p Astro is able to lock onto 20+ of these satellites and achieve a stable hover in even the windiest conditions. If this isn't quite enough performance you can add our RTK base station and the accuracy goes up 10x. Every time I watch this drone sit perfectly above a point, and think about the fact that the positional data is coming from medium earth orbit, my mind is blown. With our unique velocity clamps on Pilot Pro you can take advantage of all this precision by adjusting Astros max velocities real time and on the fly. Cruise to your inspection location at 15m/s, but then click into slow mode and adjust position at .1m/s Astro is fast, precise, and adaptable Learn More: https://lnkd.in/gePCugqr #freeflyastro

It was my pleasure today to watch SpaceX 's live launch with clear view conditions of the new WorldView Legion 1 & 2 Satellites, built by Maxar Technologies Don't be surprised by the 25-second delay in launch sounds due to the speed of light surpassing that of sound. Hit up the volume to feel the thrust vibrations! Witnessing the return of the first stage and hearing the final boom is always inspiring Wouldview legions provides the highest resolution of satellite imagery commercially available in the world with impressive 30 cm resolution. These two satellites are part of the first block of six WorldView Legion satellites. Once the six satellites join Maxar constellation, it will be able to collect imagery of the most rapidly changing areas on Earth as frequently as every 20 to 30 minutes. Worldview satellite series that started in 2007 managed to revolutionze the earth observation sector with tons of use cases in different fields thanks to its unique data quality and resolution. it's always satisfactory looking at their imagery. . Wishing flight control team best of luck in commissioning the Misson smoothly. #spacex #launch #earthobservation #satellite #remotesensing #rocket #space #earth

PDR ACHIEVED FOR #SATURN MISSION The SATURN mission (Synthetic AperTure radar cUbesat foRmation flyiNg) recently reached a significant milestone: the successfully conclusion of the Preliminary Design Review (#PDR). It consisted of a preliminary system study with definition of technical requirements, assessment and critical technologies for a train of 3, 16U-MicroSats equipped with miniaturized #SAR instruments. The PDR closing meeting was held last week with participants Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, OHB Italia S.p.A. as leader of the project and the industrial team (#ARESYS, #AIRBUS and the #PolitecnicodiMilano). The main target of the SATURN mission is to demonstrate the key technology “Cooperative Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (#MIMO) Swarms of SAR MicroSats” for innovative, low cost and versatile #EarthObservation applications. SATURN will become the first ever Space SAR MIMO mission, introducing a #newparadigm in SAR Earth Observation. SATURN will allow low-cost, scalable SAR missions for a quick approach to Space for private and public entities. The distribution of the #keyresources, normally concentrated in a single, large and complex satellite, can be distributed among small-sized and simpler systems, thanks to the proper combination of the #signals from each single node of the swarm. Such #constellation of swarms deployed on different orbital planes allows high revisit time and high performance independently from the available daylight and cloud cover. The project team has successfully developed and tested three #prototypes of the key technologies for the mission, demonstrating their technological #maturity. SATURN swarms will be a “super Earth Explorer” thanks to its great #versatility and #reconfigurability enhancing real-time #3D imaging. The age of having your plans ruined by unexpected stormy weather and of enduring turbulence on flights is set to come to an end thanks to a new satellite, British scientists have said. From 22,000 miles above the Earth, the revolutionary type of satellite will be able to provide much more accurate weather forecasts by spotting storms before they form, and will also be able to alert pilots to patches of turbulent air so they can fly around them, saving their passengers from having to fasten their seatbelts during bumpy flights. Forecasters typically have to wait for clouds to form before they can spot weather patterns in photographs or radar images, but the new spacecraft will use infrared sensors to track how usually invisible layers of cloudless air are moving at different altitudes in the atmosphere
