🌟 Meet our Chartered Manager of the Week: Dr Victoria Carr FCCT CMgr 🌟 Five years ago, when headteacher Victoria arrived at a “shambolic” primary school mired in debt, she knew she’d have her work cut out. But by January 2023, with the school upgraded to ‘Good’ status by Ofsted, the impact of her leadership was clear. The school had become, she says, “a thriving learning environment, and a place where leading is synonymous with compassion and love”. As a Chartered Manager, Victoria puts this success down to “the establishment of a high-functioning team built on the foundations of a healthy organisational culture, one based on unapologetic integrity and ethical decision-making”. But Victoria’s leadership has not merely turned the school’s fortunes around; she works tirelessly to secure the school’s future sustainability. For example, she does outreach work to raise money for the school (which had a deficit of £500,000 when she joined) and, under her watch, the school established a toddler group and neurodiversity support group. As a leader, she also believes passionately in giving her people opportunities for personal and professional development. Staff have gained numerous qualifications under her tenure, including Level 5 apprenticeships in leadership. Courtesy - Grant Cardone Lot many of us compete ourselves with others during our life time & the biggest disadvantage is we can't use our full potential by doing so. Always keeping an eye on others that what they are doing in their life keeps us busy which results into losing the untapped golden mines on the way. I am not telling that you should not follow the best practices what others are doing , but at the same time we should see what best we can do what others are not doing. When I was Kid, I used to compete for every single extra no. in the class test & every year used to compete for class ranks in examination. But as soon as I grown up ,learned one thing that exploring all the opportunities is the key to utilize full potential, Competition with own self is required to grow in life ,not with others. I started learning the subjects with whole hearted & stopped worrying about the grades & ranking. It gave me sense of accomplishment always which is higher than any rank. So next time when you have that completion switch gets triggered in your mind then take a pause & think what you can do which others are not doing to dominate the market. The greatest challenge over the years has been the misconception of what education is or what it means to be educated. From my observation, I have come to a sad realisation that most persons within the four walls of the school are just in school for the mere purpose of being in school💔😞😟; while a hand-full of them are there to acquire education. In other words, people have, over and over again misunderstood the place of the school in their training and that of their wards.
