Strategic Engineer | Innovating Infrastructure-as-Code & Internal Developer Platforms for Optimal Organizational Efficiency | DevOps Enthusiast
Recently, I spoke with colleagues who had been told that brownfield modernization couldn’t be done and that to achieve our goals, "everything" needs to be set up from scratch. However, I disagree 😲 This challenge isn't only about upgrading technology; it's about dismantling organizational, communication, and mindset barriers. Modernization is far more than automation scripts. Clear communication and early stakeholder involvement are pivotal, easing transitions and bridging skill gaps. A holistic view is essential to align efforts and tear down silos. We start with small, incremental implementations, addressing one component at a time to ensure smooth transitions, minimize risks, and ensure business continuity. Integrating security measures from day one of modernization — particularly through automation — enhances security granularity and fortifies our systems against evolving threats. Equally crucial is aligning and communicating transparently and effectively with teams managing integrated systems. Each step in this journey provides invaluable insights. By leveraging these insights and fostering open communication, we can transform legacy systems into agile, modern, and secure environments. Our experiences in brownfield modernization guide us in shaping future-ready infrastructure models — the new "everything". This is about fundamentally transforming how we operate. With commitment, perseverance, and strategic planning, brownfield modernization is entirely possible ✌ #modernization #brownfield #greenfield #infrastructure

General Counsel, Digital Infrastructure Attorney and Advisor, Chair of the TAG Infrastructure Society
Lately I have been branding myself as a digital infrastructure attorney. Some folks ask what that means, so I will take a shot at an elevator pitch length explanation. I use skills from nearly every area of the law to advise, support, and solve problems for clients in the digital infrastructure space. Rather than focus on an area of law, I gather a wide set of legal skills and apply them to the digital infrastructure market. That means I execute M&A transactions, close commercial transactions, assist with corporate governance, guide clients through regulatory strategy and compliance, develop projects, execute land and underlying rights strategies (i.e. rights-of-way, pole attachments, railroad crossings, etc.), and so much more. What is digital infrastructure? The simplest definition is the infrastructure supporting our digital world. Data centers, cell towers, radio transmitters, small cells, fiber optics, electric infrastructure, you name it. It can be challenging to have no particular legal niche. It requires constant learning, exploring, and creating new solutions and approaches. Difficult, but also why I love my job. The big upside is I enjoy the tools necessary to advise on other deals and projects as well, including general M&A, real estate, project development, government relations, and more. So, I ask my network, does this make sense? I am always trying to refine my elevator pitch of what I do, and always enjoy input on that. #digitalinfrastructure #mergersandacquisitions #commercialcontracts #broadband #datacenters #branding

At Marsden we specialize in Senior and Partner level search work and one of the areas that we have particular expertise in is the Energy and Infrastructure space. What makes us unique is we not only regularly place associates into market leading teams but we are placing partners into these teams which gives us direct access to some of the key decision makers. When we say we know the team, we really mean it. The benefit of this for the lawyers I speak to is that I am able to provide them with a large degree of detail on the roles, the strategy of the group going forward, and most importantly - really advise as to whether I believe that individual would be a good fit for the team. Some of the roles that we are working on currently in the space are: 💡 Energy / Project Finance | NYC, D.C., or Houston | 3rd year - Counsel We are working directly with the Global Chair of the Energy Group at this Am Law 10 firm on the buildout of the firm's Energy Group at both Partner and Associate level. 💡 Project Finance | NYC or DC | Counsel We are working closely with the hiring partner in this market leading project finance group. They have a consistent track record of making up partners organically year on year. The group has a breadth of projects capability - demonstrated expertise across renewables, conventional power, infrastructure, energy transition, local and international projects. 💡 Energy Transition associate| NYC or DC| 2018-2020 class year Global leader in the energy space. #energy #projectfinace #law #energytransition #biglaw #energyandinfrastructure #careergrowth #careermove #newcareeropportunities

Championing Data Innovation at Bellrock Technology | Founder & Inventor at FLUX | Technology & Entrepreneurship Focussed | Speaker & Bagpiper
“Data collection and modelling are part of how you’re going to deliver those capital projects.” It's clear that organisations have been focused on data collection for some time, but lack solutions to streamline analytics to support decision-making. At Bellrock, we do a lot of work on asset monitoring for critical infrastructure, so this article caught my eye. As technology leaders navigate the evolving landscape, our work at Bellrock aligns with the pain points discussed. A flood of skills gaps, multiple data collection systems, unclear data vision – it's these challenges that we often tackle. We want to change the way the world uses its data, and we do this with our intelligent agent technology, bundled into one place for engineers & business decision-makers to facilitate a joined-up approach to data. Industry should not solely focus on the large task of standardisation in data collection, but on getting those insights back to the right people at pace. Various data sources should be able to speak to each other in one place. It's about deploying the analytical models and getting those insights to the people who need them, regardless of skills gaps. We make data accessible to people, without complex data science or software engineering skill requirements, addressing the challenge of rapidly changing skill requirements in digital transformation & industry 4.0. The importance of being data agnostic has never been clearer – data has to be accessible and open to analysis and collaboration regardless of format if we want to accelerate innovation and use AI with purpose. 🧙 #AssetManagement #DataAnalytics #Infrastructure #Lumen #BellrockTechnology #Innovation #DecisionMaking #Bellrock #Lumen #GetDeployed Bellrock Technology Ltd New Civil Engineer
