Its pathetic how the naïve and uninformed can be manipulated by corrupt politicians. This bill helps the Top 1% even more and hurts services like education that could help the problem with social and economic mobility. Already Texas state and local tax rate for the bottom 20% of earners is 13%, while the tax rate for the Top 1% is 3.1%. A progressive state tax would lessen the burden on working people.
