This summer, we welcomed seven interns who worked across our ministry including Our Lady of the Lake, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Dominic Hospital and in our human resources department. Here, we believe in empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals. We have strategic partnerships with local schools, colleges and universities to develop job shadowing opportunities, internship and apprenticeship opportunities that give young people first-hand experience and insight into the careers available in healthcare. After experiencing WISE week 1, I would like to write a reflection about the nursing field. This week I researched information about potential internships that I will be applying to and each of their requirements. My biggest goal in WISE is to have a very hands-on experience, and have a new perspective to the nursing field, to further my knowledge on the career.
