This week, the Montana Happiness Project Happiness Challenge activity is about shifting your mindset. The goal is for us to intentionally watch, listen, and observe for things we find inspirational/joyful. Here is my experience so far: 1. What it was like to intentionally watch for inspiration? ➡ Intentionally watching for inspiration/joy caused me to continuously catch myself lingering on the bad moments and reroute my focus to the good moments around me. I learned how easy it is for my brain to automatically focus in on things that make me feel bad. This activity has given me a great starting point for recognizing and refocusing my brain's reactions to the world around me. 2. A description of what you observed. ➡ I watched my grandma and her friend eat ice cream and laugh late at night in their pajamas. They were sharing what they did during the day with each other and making plans to go to the pool the next day. 3. Reactions you had to the inspirational event. ➡ They were so happy and watching their smiles made me smile. Mindfulness has always been one of my favorite resiliency strategies, aka coping mechanisms. Definitely enhances day to day immersion!

Love this, Fran! Your observations of your thoughts and your observations of your grandma and her friend inspire us!
