Shaken or stirred? One of the most famous cocktail pop culture references is of course, Mr Bond's martini order. Funnily enough, we prefer a stirred martini. But what's the difference? Well with a drink such as a classic martini, the artistry is in the details. With proper dilution control, a stirred martini chills the mixture and dilutes it slightly, for a silky texture profile. It's important to manage dilution, as nobody likes a watery martini, but slight dilution can improve the experience for the guest. A shaken martini creates air bubbles, which alters the texture of the drink for a lighter profile. It can also dilute the drink slightly more, as ice breaks down and blends with the mixture. This Monday, we’re making a timelessly elegant Chocolate Old Fashioned Ingredients: - 45 ml Ballotin Original Chocolate Whiskey - 25 ml bourbon - 2 dashes orange bitters - 2 dashes of chocolate mole bitters - Orange slice and cherry (optional) - Garnish: chocolate-dipped orange chip and chocolate rim Instructions: 1. Combine Ballotin Original Chocolate Whiskey, bourbon, chocolate bitters, and orange bitters in a mixing glass, and add ice. 2. Stir until well combined. 3. Strain the mixture into a rock glass rimmed with chocolate, and add one large ice cube. 4. Garnish with a chocolate-dipped orange peel for an extra touch of elegance.
