2moA good friend of mine is in distress as her brother is currently incarcerated at the Augusta Med Unit. He has stage 4 cancer and is bed bound. He is incarcerated due to non-violent crimes. His name is Robert Windsor. As it is understood that if you break the law then you accept the punishment. Robert has done that but now he is dying and seemingly will die with no family around him. I use to be in a position where I would lock up those who broke the law but I do not believe this is just punishment for him. I do not think that is fair and just treatment nor is it fair to taxpayers. Why should tax payers have to medically support him or anyone in this position?! Is there anything that you all would be willing to do to shed light on such a terrible way to die?! I am sure this is not the first inmate to be in this situation that had family that mourns their loss. If the state was willing to release non-violent criminals during covid, why not allow a dying man to go home and die in peace with his family?!
