AI WILL ELEVATE US, NOT REPLACE US From AI co-pilots whispering code to tireless robot companions, the tools of our trade are undergoing a metamorphosis. Will #AI empower us or make us obsolete? Below are some musings on how AI will impact the future of work. WHY AI WON’T REPLACE US * AI lacks the human touch: AI excels at crunching data and identifying patterns, but it struggles with the nuances of human interaction. Empathy, creativity, and critical thinking are all uniquely human strengths that will remain vital in many fields. * Machines need minders: AI is powerful, but it's not sentient. Someone needs to build, train, and oversee these complex systems. Human expertise will always be required to ensure AI functions safely and ethically. * The human desire for social connection: Many jobs require a high degree of social interaction and emotional intelligence, which are fundamental human needs. For example, therapists provide emotional support and build relationships with clients that AI cannot replicate. * Job displacement but also job creation: While AI may automate some tasks, it may also create new job opportunities in areas like AI development, data analysis, and human-machine collaboration. The key will be for humans to develop the skills needed to thrive in this new work environment. INSTEAD COLLABORATION WILL BE AMPLIFIED Technology's greatest gift, from the printing press to the Internet, has always been about amplifying human productivity. History wasn't written by isolated geniuses, but by collaborative teams. AI will become the ultimate team mate and collaborator, streamlining communication, automating tedious tasks, and anticipating roadblocks. This frees us to focus on what truly defines us: creativity, problem-solving, and the magic of human connection. AI hasn't automated human work coordination yet. Not even a fraction of it. Existing solutions are just stepping stones. The true revolution lies in the synergy between human and machine, and how to maximise human potential. THE UBERMENSCH MEETS THE VIRTUOUS MAN Ultimately, this human-AI collaboration unlocks the potential for a new kind of Homo Sapien: one that embodies the ideals of both Aristotle's virtuous man and Nietzsche's Ubermensch. By leveraging AI to handle the mundane, we free ourselves to pursue excellence in all its forms (Aristotelian virtue). At the same time, this newfound freedom fosters the ability to explore uncharted territories of creativity and innovation, pushing the boundaries of human potential (Nietzschean Ubermensch). This powerful synergy between human and machine represents the true potential of AI: not to replace us, but to elevate us to a whole new level of being. This is the future of work I believe in: a future where humans and machines work together, a symphony of progress that unlocks a new era of human potential. I just finished an interesting conversation with John Selberg on organisations funding and investing in their own capabilities for AI and what it could mean for their people, their product and service offerings. It isn't a case of AI is perfect and can do all the things, it is a case of it moving fast, getting a firsthand look at what can be done will help you navigate fact from fiction. There is a lot of hype, and it is hard to find the signal in the noise especially with all the marketing. How are you thinking about your organisation and people comfortable with this technology and what it can do? A colleague of mine Eugene Chung published a transcript of a recent talk he did at Team24 on how AI bots can fit into a team context which is a strange and exciting area to explore. https://lnkd.in/enAbgvYn #ai #hype #opportunity #capabilities In writing this post I see LinkedIn is even suggesting to rewrite this with AI... 🤦♂️

A nice writeup in Forbes Magazine about our work on Colaj and collective, participatory AI at Sosolimited. The deeper I get into this work, the more my conviction grows that we can use AI to spark, support, and strengthen human-to-human interactions. The real magic and innovation still happens when people come together to create, solve problems, and above all, to connect with each other and themselves. Thanks John Werner for the great writeup and for seeing the potential for AI to support human collaboration in new ways. https://lnkd.in/eMNCzReu

AI is not just another automation tool. The recent AI advances (and our emergent responses) will define much of how we work. The creative blend of essential technologies and human endeavor has defined each of our preceding historical eras from the renaissance to the industrial revolution. We’re now entering into the AI era.

Duri Chitayat agrees, Ai isn’t about to replace us anytime soon. All early market feedback suggests Safeguard Global’s Ai investment is landing in that all important leader quadrant. WHY? Because it’s built for the customer, not for us. Compliance, speed, and accuracy of information are the key fundamentals behind ChatSG enabling our customers to be better prepared to support their employees across an ever changing world. https://lnkd.in/ePXS3Fq6
