Jacob Helberg has never built a successful tech company, or led a major fund. But after rallying support for the TikTok ban bill, the former Democratic fundraiser has become one of Silicon Valley’s conduits to former president Donald Trump. Where did he come from?

I found that those who enjoyed watching the “Rocky” movies are emotional thinkers who just like to be jerked around emotionally. The movies were entirely predicated upon this concept. This is the type of story that captures the attention of the weak minded. Oh...Joe claims dark money is bad for politics yet he is accepting money from “Dark sources”. This makes him a “bad” person. At the current time many need that money but it does not mean they will not choose to remove it from politics if given the chance. No analysis here about one must survive today’s environment if they want to be here tomorrow to help make the necessary changes to improve things. At this point anyone who depends on the major news sources such as CNN for information are greatly deluded. The headlines, the story content, and the analysis is all styled to prey on the non critical thinker who is quite often overly driven by their emotions. The place for human based solutions occurs after the non emotional fact finding investigation is done. I find written materials more valuable because much of the emotional content of video is not present.
JOE HAD ITS "ROCKY" MOMENT. BACK TO MEDIA FAVORITE "GOT YOU JOE" TODAY SHOW : DARK MONEY BEHIND DARK BRANDON 1) CNN titles were full of praise about a fiery Biden's performance last Tuesday. It was a "Rocky" moment : " The last scene when he [fought] against Apollo Creed. Sylvester Stallone played the underdog and didn’t win but he never gave up. He kept getting knocked down but kept getting back up. I was 11, says the commentator and didn’t really get it but now I do. The adults were on their feet cheering and yelling." 2) Ratings were good, very good, but I gave it three days before CNN would find another Joe's embarrassing moment, this time a "Dark money scandal for Dark Brandon" Read the following article for details but do not miss this passage "Biden himself has criticized the influence of dark money, and supported legislation that would require organizations that spend money on elections to disclose large donors more promptly. “There’s much — too much money that flows in the shadows to influence our elections,” Biden declared in a White House speech in 2022, adding that “dark money erodes public trust.” “Right now, advocacy groups can run ads on issues attacking or supporting a candidate right until Election Day without exposing who’s paying for that ad,” Biden said – describing the kind of ads that Future Forward USA Action could run backing him later this year. Biden’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment." https://lnkd.in/emJYNd-x

Silicon Valley Tech going for Trump: Please listen to Sri Lankan billionaire Chamath Palihapitiya's - who was the co-host of the fundraising - impressions on Trump: https://lnkd.in/ecup3gWw the way, most of those in this clip voted for and funded the Democrats. Chamath gave $250,000 to Biden in 2020 and before that to Hilary. Hence, these are not your typical hardcore MAGA donors praising Trump. Listen to the 2nd part (you can skip the subject lines) on the inside account of Silicon Valley fundraising. Here is what Chamath (and all others in the clip) says:"Two observations: First, the gap between what the media portrays him and when you meet him in person. That gap is really wide. You really need to sit in a room with him to feel what it is like. He is charismatic, intellectually sharp, and funny. Second, he is very polite and kind in a way which is quite disarming. That was not what I expected. I felt I have misjudged him for many years. I am very glad that I could sit with him and engage one on one. He is pro innovation, pro crypto, pro AI, etc."

🚨 Whistleblower Alert: Disinformation Expert Faces Backlash at Harvard 🚨 Joan Donovan, a renowned disinformation scholar, has blown the whistle on the chilling shift in attitude she experienced from her superiors. The change coincided with a massive $500M donation from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to Harvard. Donovan's revelations have sent ripples through the academic community, raising questions about the influence of big-money donations on academic freedom and integrity. Takeaway: Transparency and ethics in academia must be upheld, regardless of the size of the donation. It's crucial to support scholars like Donovan who dare to speak out. #Whistleblower #AcademicIntegrity #Disinformation #ChanZuckerbergInitiative #Harvard #EthicsInAI #BigMoneyInfluence

The political financial tech space is READY for innovation. There is plenty of room to layer in new companies driving our ability to move money faster and more efficiently. From the article: “If you’re a down-ballot campaign, there are going to be millions of new donors saving their credit card information on an ActBlue competitor, which makes that more of an option for you in terms of switching,” Pennington said. That could ultimately lead to “more competitive infrastructure and tools” for the Democratic Party. We need competitive infrastructure - it's how we get better. It's how we bring in new donors and new candidates. It's how we win more!

**FOLLOW THE MONEY** In the last 3-6 months, the visibly troubled Pres. Joe #Biden was losing #donors, popularity and supporters BIGLY. And #KamalaHarris was the most unpopular VP in modern history. Even prominent Democrats were openly criticizing them. Until just recently, the mainstream and social media refused to talk about it. Instead, they covered for Joe and Kamala, and withheld facts that any reasonably informed and intelligent person should and could have seen. In #politics, #money is not the only important factor but it is an important factor. Money is to politics as blood is to the human body. It is not a good idea to run out of either if long term survival is the goal. 😏 Despite all of the rosey rhetoric, something is changing for the Democrats. Prominent, big dollar donors are (for various reasons) leaving and moving over to 'the other side.' In marketing, we say that people 'vote with their dollars.' https://lnkd.in/gtPqF2Kg HERE'S MY POINT. I'm not sure what the outcome of this election will be, but it is critically important to get informed, involved and active in it NOW - if you care about the future of our nation. AND - something is happening below the surface. As when a tsunami begins as a ripple in the ocean miles away from land...and comes ashore as a sudden and irresistible force. Please pay attention, my friends.

Rather concerning article in the The Australian Financial Review today https://lnkd.in/gF7VTMM3 With the quote "One wealth adviser told me that some of his clients sincerely “believe that they are descended from the pharaohs, and that they were destined to inherit the earth”." with " “Commanding vastly greater resources and beyond the reach of many forms of compulsion, the Sovereign Individual will redesign governments and reconfigure economies.”" This ties into last weeks Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) podcast on the Darkside of Stanford University. https://lnkd.in/g2UNi9p8 Which led me to the interview with Malcom Harris in The Guardian https://lnkd.in/gvRjs_Nc And his book - Palo Alto: A History of California, Capitalism, and the World https://lnkd.in/gsBvH_j2 With the description of the “Palo Alto System”, a new scientific method of breeding and training horses developed by Leland Stanford in the 1880s, and how they were running through these young horses at a higher rate, and busting their limbs. Palo Alto System”, a strategy to achieve fast growth and big returns for investors at any cost, with a focus on exploiting young talent and new technologies. Since the late 19th century, as Harris tells it, the Anglo settlers of California have operated on the principle of Facebook’s infamous slogan, “move fast and break things”, which has also meant moving fast and breaking people. So this would appear to explain the headline. Perhaps we should stop idolising Silicon Valley.
