Between January and August 2024, 5.2 percent more #flights were controlled in German #airspace than in the prior-year period. #Safety levels remained high throughout. #DFS has significantly improved its #punctuality and has guided flights even more directly to their #destinations. ✈️ From 1 January to 31 August #airtrafficcontrollers have guided two million flights through German airspace. ✈️ The busiest day was 15 July, the day after UEFA EURO 2024 with 9,979 aircraft movements. ✈️ #Traffic volumes are still almost 10 percent below the 2019 level. Between January and August, #delays attributed to DFS air traffic control fell by 30 percent to an average of just 50 seconds per flight! (compared with the prior-year period). Challenges pose the war in #Ukraine and the according #airtraffic shifts; as well as #weather, which is having a growing influence on air traffic. En-route flight efficiency improved further. Flights controlled by DFS reached their destination without any significant detours, with the deviation from the shortest route being only 0.95 percent on average. Are you keeping up with the ongoing price war between Air Peace and British Airways? Interestingly, BA is not initiating the war because they know they will lose. Over 80% of passengers on the route are Nigerians who prefer Air Peace over BA with the right messaging and product offer. While premium class passengers may be difficult to move away from BA due to loyalty products and punitive consequences, P4 can still compete with the right product offering and direct flights to the UK. Winning enticements include price, reliability, cabin experience, and baggage allowances. It's not just about lowering prices, but also understanding the needs of the international passenger. For the average Nigerian passenger, reliability is almost as important as price. Additionally, how crews relate with passengers is extremely important. If P4 crews are less snobbish than BA crews and make the customer feel at home, they have a sure winner. The key takeaway? P4 has the potential to win the route war if they better understand the needs of the international passenger.
