Food Banks Canada | Banques alimentaires Canada’s Post

The grades are in! Our 2024 #PovertyReportCards show that very little has changed since we first launched this initiative last fall, and that, in many ways, poverty and food insecurity are actually worsening across the country. With all but 3 provinces on the edge of failing and Canada’s overall score being downgraded to D-, it is very clear that governments at all levels simply aren’t taking enough action to address the unprecedented level of financial struggle faced by people across Canada. As nearly half of all Canadians feel financially worse off compared to 2023, we have seen a 30% increase in food bank demand in the last year alone, and 1 in 4 people in Canada experiencing food insecurity. The situation is urgent, and we simply cannot continue to accept it as the status quo. To see how your province is stacked up and how we think your government can ensure a Canada where no one goes hungry, please visit: https://lnkd.in/g5Cn_T7t
