After each internship, take time to reflect on what you learned and how you can apply it to your future career goals. Consider maintaining a journal or blog where you record your accomplishments, challenges and accomplishments. Reflection helps you identify areas of excellence and areas for improvement. It also allows you to track your progress over time and ensures that you are positively building on past experiences rather than simply moving from one internship to another without progress

Living the brand. I mean, fully embracing the brand. I've followed Robert Pasin, CWO (Chief Wagon Officer)of #RadioFlyer for many years (and not just because they are headquartered in my beloved city of Chicago 😉 ). When I think about the power of a brand, Radio Flyer always comes to mind. Each time I read his posts, I have a window into the Radio Flyer brand. When Robert talks about their internship program or being a Great Place to Work IL, you get a glimpse into the brand's culture. When he talks about the company being part of the TugBoat Institute or becoming a certified B Corp, you understand the brand's values. If aligning every step taken as a company with the brand is running up a big hill, then getting a brand to create emotion is a vertical mountain climb. Radio Flyer does both - really, really well. Hats off to Robert and the Flyers. If you're a branding enthusiast like me, be sure to follow Radio Flyer and Robert. Not only will you learn, but you will be inspired by the brand (and smile 😁 ).
Welcome to Breakfast with the CWO! Every year, I meet with interns and new Flyers to share Radio Flyer’s history and the personal lessons I’ve learned over the years. It leads to a great dialog and refuels my excitement for all that’s to come on Radio Flyer’s journey. My favorite question from this morning was “What advice would you give yourself at the beginning of your career?” The answer? It will happen, but it will take longer than you expect so be patient. Also, start an internship program ASAP. 😊
