Clinical Director, Australia at Gameto | Healthcare Innovation and Strategy Executive | Advocate for Women's Health Technologies
Two years post-motherhood, I faced a proposal for a hysterectomy to address an increase in ovulation pain—a stark illustration of the drastic measures often suggested in women's healthcare. This experience, while unsettling, catalyzed a profound shift in my career. After nearly two decades in the fertility industry, I'm moving my career path towards modernising how women navigate their fertility in Australia. During National Infertility Awareness Week, I wear my #YourEGGSPERIENCEmatters sweatshirt not just as attire but as a statement. Our healthcare system needs a paradigm shift, where a woman's experiences are central to the conversation—not sidelined or dismissed. I am proud to be working with innovative companies like Gameto, who's IVM technology, aims to minimise the invasive nature of fertility treatments, ensuring women have access to gentler, more respectful options. As professionals in health and technology, how can we further empower women in their healthcare journeys? What innovative approaches have you seen that honor and prioritise patient experience and agency? Your insights are invaluable as we collectively strive to reshape healthcare. I encourage you to support RESOLVE's vital work by visiting their fundraising page (https://lnkd.in/gjhHvXAv). Together, we can foster a healthcare environment that truly values women's health and well-being. #yourEGGSPERIENCEmatters

Did you know that the USA has the highest maternal mortality rate among developed nations? And shockingly, over 80% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable. As we honor women and their achievements, it's crucial to acknowledge this alarming reality. For too long, women's health concerns have been neglected, resulting in insufficient innovation, research, and funding. #FemTech, focusing on tech solutions for women's health, offers hope. With technology, Femtech companies are revolutionizing how women manage their health across various stages—menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. Yet, for Femtech to thrive, it needs more investment, regulatory support, and awareness. Governments, investors, and organizations must step up to drive progress in women's health. Improving women's health isn't just a women's issue—it's everyone's. Do you agree? Linda Clark, MD, MS Jeremy N. 🌸 Closing the Gaps in Women's Health: A Call to Action 🌸 Despite significant advances in healthcare, there are still considerable gaps that need urgent attention. Flat6Labs in partnership with Organon META (Middle East, Turkey & Africa) are pushing innovation in the right direction with regards to women's health with their recent Women's Health Accelerator program. Their informative workshops have highlighted key areas where we need to focus our efforts: 🌸 Reproductive Health: Access to comprehensive reproductive health services, including family planning/IVF, prenatal care, and safe childbirth, is still lacking in many parts of the world. We must ensure every woman has the resources and support she needs for her reproductive health journey. Thank you Dr.Faysal El Kak, Dr Nouf Behzad, Sarah Hariz and Dr Hazem Al-Rumaih for your sessions. 🌸 Mental Health: Advances in awareness around Mental Health have definitely helped the cause and there are great campaigns out there breaking down stigmas and barriers. That being said there is still much work to do to create safe, supportive environments for women to receive the care they need. 🌸 Chronic Diseases: Conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis disproportionately affect women. Research and resources must be directed towards understanding how these diseases manifest differently in women and developing targeted treatment options. 🌸 Menstrual Health: Menstrual health is still a taboo subject in many cultures, leading to a lack of education and resources. We need to break the stigma, educate young women about menstrual health, and ensure access to necessary products. 🌸 Healthcare Access: In many regions, women face significant barriers to accessing healthcare due to economic, social, and cultural factors. We must work towards removing these barriers and ensuring equitable access to healthcare for all women. As we strive for a more inclusive and equitable healthcare system, it's crucial to listen to women, understand their unique health needs, and advocate for changes that will close these gaps. Let's work together to empower women and improve their health outcomes. 💪👩⚕️💜 Nour Hossam Aly Islam Bassel Deraz Chanda Lokendra Kundnaney #WomensHealth #Healthcare #HealthEquity #MentalHealth #ReproductiveHealth #ChronicDiseases #MenstrualHealth #EmpowerWomen #HealthAdvocacy #Femtech #Femalefounder

What’s the future of women’s health and wellness? According to Sasha Pines, MBA ’24, it’s #FemTech — which will “help the next generation of women create their own definition of success.” As Pines explains, the U.S. has too narrow a view of women’s health. “The definition of success for women is centered around successful pregnancies,” she says. “A wide range of women's health issues are neglected because most of our clinical research focuses on reproduction.” For Pines, it’s time to redefine women’s health to encompass overall well-being, not just reproductive health. “Success in healthcare should be about giving women the tools to stay healthy, thriving, and empowered throughout all stages of their lives, before, during, and after pregnancy,” she says. The key driver of that shift, Pines says, is FemTech, a new field of investment and innovation focused on conditions that solely, disproportionately, or differentially affect women. “FemTech entrepreneurs are redefining success in healthcare by applying technology not only to reproduction, but also to sexual health, mental health, chronic conditions, [and] menopause. The FemTech revolution is here.” #healthcare This video is from LOWkeynotes: Student presentations on ideas that change lives, organizations, and the world. https://bit.ly/3xHsEiR

Let's raise awareness about endometriosis together! Endometriosis is a common gynecological condition, affecting 1 in 10 women of reproductive age globally. It occurs when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing pain and impacting fertility. While these growths are benign, they can still cause significant discomfort. During menstruation, these misplaced tissues bleed and swell, leading to pain and inflammation. Together, we can: -Raise awareness about endometriosis to empower women to seek diagnosis and treatment. -Empower women with accurate information about the condition. -Support organizations dedicated to endometriosis research and advocacy.
