Where do ice cream connoisseurs go to learn more about their product? Ice Cream College. "From cow to cone." 🐄 🍦 A.K.A The Ice Cream Short Course, offered one week every year at Penn State University. This Short Course has a 132-year history. ✅ This is the place where the ice cream people go to learn about ice cream. Some companies, like Tillamook, send people every year. Employees from Hudsonville, Turkey Hill, Perry’s, Stewart’s Shops, Hershey, Friendly’s, Graeter’s, Jeni’s, Baskin Robbins and more all attended this year. Even Ben and Jerry once took a version of this class. 👉 Don't attend unless you're serious about ice cream. 🍦 You will learn 14 ways to make vanilla. One student quoted: “The most important thing I learned was better understanding our ice cream mix and how the ingredients interact with each other.” I can say the same for high performance teams - we need to understand our mix and how each team player interacts with each other. 🍨 So - Teamwork makes the dream work makes the ice cream work ⁉

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝘆𝗳𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 The five stages you need to go to become a master in your skill. I started as a dairy apprentice for the company I worked for about 13 years, but the great thing is that I didn't left the company as an apprentice, I left as a manufacturing director. One of the tools that allowed me to learn fast and develop my skills (which eventually pushed me from dairy apprentice to manufacturing director in just 6 years), was the Dreyfus Method. Let me briefly explain, there are five stages to acquire a skill. 1. Novice 2. Competent 3. Proficient 4. Expert 5. Master Each stage has its own characteristics and tricks to learn a skill in a orderly and efficient manner. Each stage is highly correlated to how our mind work, from the conscious to the subsconscious. In other words if you want to become master at something you need to develop your subconscious and intuition, and live in "The NO Rule World." Time to share some wonderful project results from 2023.: Coffee Physical Quality Analyst from Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA)! ☕ Can't wait to apply this technical expertise in: Examination of the traceability of coffee production from bean to cup, taking into account: -classification system -value chain based on processes and physical analysis -production costs -types of raw materials -types of excellent coffee according to granulometry And inspection of export protocol criteria. 😃📈

I recently had the privilege of attending an online training session on Better Process Control, organized by Food Science department of Purdue University, US. This experience was truly enlightening, offering deep insights into various critical topics, including: Thermal Processing, Thermally Processed Foods, Aseptic Processing etc. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from such esteemed Professors who provided valuable knowledge on these essential topics. The training has enriched my understanding and enhanced my skills in process control.

I’m a bit of a fangirl of the SURREAL marketing team because they nail it. Every time. (Well done guys) 🙏 You might not be their ideal customer so these ads may not appeal to you, and that’s ok… and that’s not the point. The point is that we need to CONNECT with our audience. So what can you take from this campaign to level up your marketing too? Be timely - Exam result dates are known well in advance, so the team will have been planning this for a while. The flip side is that sometimes you need to be responsive to a trend.. whether for or against! Take a stand. Be prepared for both. Humour - I love the self deprecation. 47th cereal company… Not a giant, not the same as the rest, and not taking themselves too seriously (although to do this stuff consistently, they’ll be taking their marketing and branding seriously). Even ‘serious’ companies can harness humour and it won’t detract from their professionalism. Infact it’ll probably make them stand out in a crowded and clouded market. Know your audience - ever wondered why we need to know about oxbow lakes, and other things we had to know for our GCSEs and haven’t used since?! Nostalgia can be a great way to make an emotional connection, so looking back (not in anger😉) really works, and the use of ‘finally’ really underpins all of this. It’s like a massive eye roll… which in itself will appeal to some for its sheer cheek! Know your audience #2 - some audience groups are focused on their health (and others aspire to so will buy into health messages), so peppering content with health creds reinforces the connection… but they’re not smacking us around the face with the health stuff. Just quietly and confidently leaving it there. Do the same. Know what your audience feels passionately about and play into it. Know your audience #3 - audiences mostly don’t care about what WE want to tell them. (Only my mum cares about my achievements) so make an emotional connection first, then add in those elements like, in this case, protein vs sugar. Brand consistency - their visuals are strong and consistent. You could probably identify a SURREAL advert if it had no logo on it. That’s good branding. Just a few thoughts. A qualified audience also makes a huge difference and all of this taking place in a serious institution[*] is definitely awesome. On the contrary we're just shooting arrows in the dark... 30+ years ago an unforgettable college teacher of mine once said it best: "There is no better way to learn something than by teaching it." Solid gold. Period I'm a firm believer that through teaching more, and therefore thinking more --we’ll generate more important findings, ideas, and qualified theories. No denying.
