As architects, our role is to engage with cities in efforts to support and revitalize neighborhoods. However, we must address how to do so responsibly without contributing to displacement and economic disparity. Park Station brings 58 apartments to Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood, 70% of which will be affordable units, and new retail that aims to encourage additional engagement and growth. Mixed-use, transit-oriented developments like this one offer a glimpse into the future of responsible urban affordable housing, and we're proud to collaborate on it and with future teams seeking similar contributions to cities across the country. #AffordableHousing #ChicagoDevelopment #ChicagoRealEstate #ChicagoAffordableHousing #Woodlawn

Last week we were honored to host a studio tour for the Chicago Architecture Center's 2024 Teen Fellows and then join their project critique. FitzGerald's participation is led by Luis Salgado, who joins one of his own mentors from his days at City Colleges of Chicago-Harold Washington College, professor Ivanhoe Tejeda (who once worked for FitzGerald—small world!) to educate and mentor today's CAC Teen Fellows. Thank you, Luis, for your time and dedication to this program, as well as to Aimee Magis, Sydney Serwatt, and Roberta Solorio Arellano who took time to host the tour and contribute to the critique—on behalf of the Fitz team, as well as the students who look up to you!

Congratulations to the 919 W Fulton team on topping out last week! We were proud to be on-site to celebrate the occasion, and we're looking forward to the next phases of construction taking shape!
TOPPING OUT: Today, our partners, clients and project team gathered to celebrate reaching the final height at 919 W Fulton, an 11-story, 409,000-square-foot-mixed-use office building! The topping-out milestone marks the end of the structural phase of construction as the project team works toward the building’s completion and anticipated opening in 2025. A huge thank you to all of our trade partners for getting us to this point! Read more about 919 W Fulton here: https://lnkd.in/grzjDRg2

There's nothing like watching a large project come to life. Onward and upward!
We're almost to the top of our 919 W Fulton project! Pouring concrete for a 409,000-square-foot building is no small feat. It requires meticulous planning and coordination between our trade partners and project teams. Over the past weeks, the building has been coming out of the ground, about to reach its final height of 11 stories. When completed in 2025, 919 W Fulton will feature expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, outdoor terraces on all sides, a rooftop with a lounge and bar, several coworking and conference spaces, a fitness center with full locker rooms, and a full-depth, nearly football field-sized basement for 65-stall parking.
