Do you like in person or online training? I think both are a viable way of reaching your fitness goals. I broke down the pros and cons in the latest blog post. 🟢 What to expect from in person training When you think of personal training, the first image that probably pops into your head is a trainer standing next to you at the gym, guiding you through your workout. That’s the classic in-person experience, and it has a lot going for it, especially if you enjoy being around people. With in-person training, you get real-time feedback from a pro who’s watching every move you make. They can correct your form instantly, adjust your workout on the fly if you need it and answer any questions you may have in real time. This hands-on approach is great for people who like the accountability that comes from physically showing up at the gym and having someone there to push them when things get tough. But there are some downsides to consider. First off, in-person training can be pricey. You’re paying for one-on-one time, and that can add up quickly, especially if you workout a lot. You’re also tied to their schedule—if your trainer is booked solid or your work hours are all over the place, it might be tricky to find a time that works. Plus, if you travel a lot or just have a busy life in general, sticking to a consistent routine might be harder with in-person sessions. So, while in-person training offers that personal connection and immediate feedback, it may not always be the most convenient or cost-effective option for everyone. Still, if you need that extra push or prefer having someone guide you step-by-step in the gym, this could be a great fit for you! 🟢 The rise of online personal training I remember when I first saw other trainers doing online training around 2013. It's only gotten more popular ever since. With the convenience of working out anywhere, anytime, it’s easy to see why. Instead of being tied to a gym or a set schedule, online training lets you work with a professional trainer through apps, like Trainerize and video calls from the comfort of your home (or wherever you are). Whether you’re travelling, working late, or just prefer exercising in your living room, online personal training gives you the freedom to train on your terms. One of the biggest perks? Flexibility. You’re no longer limited by your trainer’s schedule or location. Want to squeeze in a workout at 6 a.m. before work? No problem. Prefer to hit the gym late at night after the kids are asleep? Online training makes that possible. This flexibility often leads to better consistency because you fit workouts into your life without needing to rearrange your day. https://lnkd.in/d7DafCrY

Understanding your city is much like grasping a product – Option A, similar to a local resident navigating the streets daily, mirrors the approach of those who immerse themselves in exploration. It is a profound assertion that resonates beyond city life; a philosophy applicable to comprehending any domain, even in the professional arena. As a professional trainer at S&P Global I've discerned that individuals who venture into a product with a hands-on, explorative spirit tend to master it more thoroughly than those reliant on trainers alone. Consider a city dweller, weaving through the streets day after day, absorbing the nuances, and becoming an integral part of the local history. This engagement is similar to an individual delving into a product, navigating its features, and uncovering its intricacies. The synergy between a person and their environment is palpable, fostering a profound connection that transcends the mere surface-level knowledge one might acquire through passive means. In the context of product learning, a parallel can be drawn. An individual ready to explore a product extensively, dissecting its features and functions, mirrors the proactive city dweller. This contrasts with the passive approach of someone who merely relies on trainers. While trainers provide a platform and introduce tools, they cannot single-handedly transform an individual into a subject matter expert (SME). The process of becoming an SME demands more than a structured learning environment; it requires a personal commitment to exploration. Just as a local resident uncovers the layers of their city by traversing its streets, an individual unravels the complexities of a product through hands-on interaction. This engagement fosters a deep understanding that transcends what can be conveyed in training sessions. The dichotomy between a resident and a tourist mirrors the distinction between an active explorer of a product and one who passively absorbs information. The resident, intimately familiar with their surroundings, embodies the hands-on learner who delves into a product, unraveling its intricacies independently. On the other hand, the tourist, relying on external sources like YouTube videos, represents the more passive approach, expecting information to be presented rather than actively seeking it out. As a professional trainer, I've witnessed firsthand the impact of these contrasting approaches in the professional realm. Individuals who proactively explore a product, testing its limits and functionalities, emerge with a comprehensive understanding that surpasses what any training session can impart. In essence, the hands-on explorer becomes an SME not by relying solely on external guidance but by actively participating in the learning process. Happy 2024!!

🔥⚡🚀Harnessing Energy in the Training Room: A Trainer's Challenge 🔥⚡🚀 As trainers and facilitators, we are the conductors of ‘energy in the room’. It's our responsibility to infuse our sessions with enthusiasm, dynamism, and passion. But what happens when faced with a group of seemingly disinterested or distracted participants, especially in the space of online training where learners might be logged in, but are physically and mentally elsewhere? In today's digital age, where participants can (and do) join sessions from virtually anywhere - the beach, the supermarket, while driving, or even while multitasking at their desks - engaging them can be a formidable task. They might be logged in, but their minds (and sometimes bodies) are miles away from the learning objectives we aim to achieve. As facilitators and trainers, we must bring our own energy to the table, making it infectious and finding ways to captivate the attention of participants, redirecting their scattered focus back to the matter at hand. However, this is easier said than done. So, how do you effectively transform the energy in the room when faced with a group that is clearly not engaged in the online space? I invite you to share strategies on how do you build energy and captivate the interest and attention of learners online? Your insights could inspire someone. #onlinelearning #facilitation #onlinetraining #learnerengagement

💡E-learning enables L&D Professionals to give people the autonomy to both manage their own learning and to fit it into their daily workflows which matches the reality of peoples busy working life. Now that’s not to say that e-learning can replace face to face learning but that it is built into your L&D strategy and face to face events are not necessarily the default style of training like it once was. ➡️Join our Free Forum on the 11th June discussing- *How do we make blended learning effective?* Developing notable, continuous learning opportunities for our teams has never been easy.
