To celebrate Earth month, our SAM employee resource group visited Tifft Nature Preserve. A group of employees came together to plant 32 cottonwood trees. These trees are native to Western New York and will help re-tree the area for years to come.
This short movie from the New Jersey Conservation Foundation, a work of art by Sourland Studios, beautifully captures this inspiring message of the perils of our planet and the significance of the rematriation movement. It is an inspiring story of the partnership that led to the Cohanzick Nature Reserve. The rematriation of lands to local Indigenous people, a significant pillar of the rematriation movement, is crucial for protecting our cultural heritage, preserving traditional knowledge, and fostering environmental sacred symbiosis rooted in centuries-old practices. The rematriation of the Cohanzick Nature Reserve marks a significant step in a nationwide movement, and how our collaborative efforts by the Native American Advancement Corporation (NAAC), New Jersey Conservation Foundation, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) Green Acres Program, and The Nature Conservancy, can heal historical injustices. Acquired in August 2023, this 63-acre forested property in New Jersey returns to the Cohanzick Lenape people, the land's original inhabitants. This initiative honors our enduring connection to the land. It sets a precedent for similar efforts across the country, highlighting the importance of such partnerships in promoting social justice and sacred environmental symbiosis. We at NAAC will be forever grateful for these partnerships, the gift from the Creator, and the promise we keep for those of the next seven generations.

Humanity has lost its meaning. Human kind has now become partly robotic in so many ways.We have forgotten how to talk to one another due to social media platforms and texting. soon mankind might not even need to know any language. body parts that do not function or have been post have been replaced by devices and bionic limbs how long do you think before our dead brain is replaced by artificial intelligence? if that happens will man become immortal? living a part human life. can we procreate there after. or will it be the end of the human race as we know it?
answers to these questions present frightening futures for our kids and grandkids.
so my answer to this madness is to take off days from technology. spend those off days with loved ones at the beach, park, wild life sanctuaries or just camp out. walk ,hike rude horses. don't use ur cars or bikes. just walk barefooted on the sand connect with nature. explore and examine little creatures that inhabit the seashore,or jungle or even just your back yard. watch the mighty Ant carry it's food, or twigs to build a safe have. watch the birds, bees nature in general. one would be amazed at how much of this world is yet. unknown. God gave us this Earth, with sunshine, wind, rain. have you ever enjoyed a day in the new spring rain. with fine new raindrops sprinkling you,or the smell of newly moistened soil. there is nothing like it. Teach your kids, to enjoy beautiful views, dolphins playing in the ocean, little fish swimming up to them in little puddles between the rocks at the beach. There is so much more. Just go out there, listen to the loud call of birds,or chirping or tweeting.
Be Human again my friends. Too soon all this will be out of your grasp.
Amazing Mother Earth I thank you daily for what you give. Nourishment, energy, shade, shelter the list is endless.
ROP (Return on Potential) is my favorite acronym although I’m an MD, PhD, MBA, CFA & a bunch of other acronyms people think matters. 4x’ing ROP @ Harvard, MIT, & Stanford & Founder/CEO of a multibillion dollar VC firm.
Here are the facts:
☎️ The average person spends 4 hours and 37 minutes on their phone.
🌳 More than 50% of people spend LESS than 1 hour a day outside.
🧍♀️ Yet our distance ancestors spent virtually all of their time outdoors…
🌴…and outdoors wasn’t paved roads with honking horns and polluting vehicles - it was nature in it’s purest form.
🏡 Is it high time that we reclaim our heritage, reconnect with our essence, and find our way back home?
